Hi Donna that is so fantastic and look like you are well on the way to ridding yourself of this horrible beast! Yay!!!!!!! :+1: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Like yourself I have a son with special needs and want to be around for him as long as possible. I worry that there is no-one who will love him and care for him the way I do and he will always need 24/7 care.

I am travelling this treatment journey with you albeit just a few weeks ahead, (on week 8 of treatment) My 4 week results ended up a total mess!!! My GP is lovely and was willing to help but not a specialist in this area so is learning as we go along!!! Got my ALT (down to 23) Have had to do another blood test for my AST which was missing (final result was 33) and then another to redo VL which the lab had watered down due to not having enough blood sample!!! Complete botch up but have them now just over the past couple of weeks. Not exactly week 4 results haha!!! I too am UNDETECTED!!! (using I think the quantitive test which has simply said undetected, rather than qualitative test which does give an actual figure). Hope I have this info correct wouldn't want to be talking crap. As you say Donna it is all a bit confusing but it does start to get a little clearer all these results!!!

This is so definitely the right place for you to come for info super educational along with amazing support from lovely people who have been on this journey already or who are in the process, or those who are sadly in the shit position of having to try again. It is an amazing place.

Looking forward to seeing you reach the end goal! #flower #flower #flower Lots of love and hugs to you!

Hi Donna,

Lack of sleep can be a problem on these meds. Here is a post from Dr Freeman on the subject.

Thanks for that Gaj
It's been difficult with lack of sleep. The first month of treatment I managed alright, but it's kinda caught up with me. I've been all over the place emotionally, and the last few days I'm tearful. I know the medications are working so just trying my best to stay positive.
I really appreciate all the support on here, thanks to everyone who has replied to my post ❤️

Hi Donna,

Apart from the lack of sleep there are a lot of physical and emotional changes happening for most of us while on this treatment so you're not alone there. I had difficulty controlling my feelings at the same stage as you but it did settle down with time. (I was almost blubbering over pictures of cute puppies let alone interactions with people.  ).

For the insomnia I learnt not to fret about getting back to sleep but rather to just relax and lie there and rest even though I was awake, often that allowed me to drift in and out of a light doze for a couple of hours which helped. I also saw my GP and he prescribed some sleeping pills but because I wasn't keen on taking those too often I just used them once or twice a week when I felt really exhausted or needed a good night's sleep before an important day. Again, as treatment progressed I found I was able to adjust and get enough sleep to keep me going.

Awesome! Keep it up!

Note: I agree with GAJ, emotional support des unknown why, but it may come up from time to time but Fitz told me this so it helped when it happened. Just like GAJ said.

Hi Gaj,
I had also some moments of insomnia. Not too many, however in one of the nights I tried a trick that worked. Instead of doing the classic trick to imagine me counting the sheep, I imagined I was financial manager at Gilead  , sitting on a mountain of cash (made from bills of 100$ :woohoo: ) and started to count them. It seems it worked, I do not remember reaching 10 000$ ..... I guess Gilead would fire me instantly for not having been able to count at least 1 billion $.....
Another interesting trick I tried in one other night was to imagine me counting the 84 pills from the 3 bottles. If you think it is easy, try it. It is not. And if you fall asleep, you may thank me later B)

Cheers,
RHF

Good morning from Oz Donna
I'm just catching up after some domestic duties that were rather time consuming
Yes to the insomnia and general tiredness which by week ten shifted into overdrive with a very zooomy sensation even during the day. Emotions run up and down I found maybe the tiredness catches up plus the demands of single parenting or it's just how it is. But the best thing is you are clear and just really "overtreating" and that's how my DAA tx ran too
I'm here barracking for you to the finish line and I am sure there's an occasional whinge in my blog re not sleeping etc haha!
Sending you love and goodvibes I am sorry I have been absent for a week doing family stuff but I have logged in to this awesome news all over the forum
Go for it Donna we got your back girl xxxxx
