2A treatment begins 7 years 10 months ago #18862
Hi all, I'm excited to say that after a few hurdles and months have gone by, I finally began my tx, 24 wks Sof/Dac + Riba last week. Day 6 today, and so far, so good! I got my meds from the wonderful and helpful Rachel at Mesochem ( smooth sailing getting them imported into the US; again, Rachel is the best!) FINALLY found a GP who was willing to monitor my tx. I was just too nervous to do this unsupervised because of the RIBA. So Doctor is on board and I finally got my husband to be ok with my going rogue to get my treatment as well. Hey, if this is what we have to do, yahoo, lets get this party started! I'm happy and excited to have this chance to clear this damn disease, but I gotta say, I'm nervous too. The highest my VL ever got after I relapsed was 2,600,000. Blood work done pre- treatment this time around says VL is 10,600,000. Wow.; that's a lot of virus to kill. ALT 32, AST is 29, so I don't think that's too bad; chin up. Staying positive and hoping for the best. Will keep everybody posted as labs come in. I see that many folks here have started or are currently on treatment now and are UND. So happy for you all, such GREAT news!! Here's to all of us who fight this battle. Praying good health for us all! 2A/F2. 12 weeks Sof & Riba in 2015. Undetected at 4 wks. Relapsed. Treated w/24 weeks Sof/Riba/Dac 2016. June 2017/ 24 weeks UND. | Hey SS43! Another "Ugly American" I'm happy to hear you're already into day 6 with continuing, "smooth sailing" My VL was at 13000000 and AST/ALT astronomical at, 162 & 241 respectively. At 3 weeks into tx, my VL was 138, that's not million, it was, one hundred thirty eight! My AST/ALT had dropped to, 27/31 respectively. That was getting awfully close to UND at only 3 weeks. I'm just over six now and feeling really good. As others pointed out to me back at 3 weeks, "The way it's going, in another week you should reach undetected." I don't know for sure that I have, because my doc wants to wait to EOT to initiate more labs, but I certainly feel like I could have. Back at you on the good health to all wishes. Thanks Hazel!! Yes, it's quite a cocktail we've all mixed up for ourselves, huh??!! It still amazes me that us lay-folk can do for ourselves what the medical community and major drug manufacturers can't. When I do the math and see what the street value of these drugs are compared to what I paid for them, it's just obscene! Best of luck to you as well!! 2A/F2. 12 weeks Sof & Riba in 2015. Hi SShady Does the double S signify your second attempt at slaying the stubborn little shit that’s refused to clear out? There’s been a lot of success here for GT2s using Sof/Dac. The added Riba is no doubt because you have relapsed. I’ve got a gut feeling that you’ll win the battle this time. Good luck with your treatment. I look forward to following your progress. I love your attitude and tenacity. Hi all, 2A here again. I've been on treatment for 4 weeks now. Just had my appt with my GP on Friday and am tickeled to say that with a 10,600,000 VL to start, I am now UND! Whoop whoop! Staying positive and chasing away any thoughts of possible relapse; I have 5 more months to go yet, with a much stronger cocktail this time; Sof/Riba with added Daclatisver. I have to say again to anyone in the US who is hesitating to go this route with generics. I got mine from Mesochem. It was incredibly easy to get them ordered, and they arrived in about 10 days. I got all the information I needed regarding compounding from the good people here on the Fix Hep C website. These lifesaving drugs are affordable. They are working. Please take care of yourself and DO THIS NOW!! and stay in touch with everyone here. There are true warriors here, and every one of them will gladly offer what they've learned and a kind word. I'll drop in with updates as I get them. Sending out continued prayers for good health and UND's for us all. 2A/F2. 12 weeks Sof & Riba in 2015. Undetected at 4 wks. Relapsed. Treated w/24 weeks Sof/Riba/Dac 2016. June 2017/ 24 weeks UND. | |
