Well after 23 days into the battle, time has come for first blood work sample. Aside from little elevated HDL cholesterol everything else is normal. Liver enzymes are as follows: ALT: 14, AST 14, GGT 19, ALP 107 Few days before tx it was: AST 41, ALT 59, GGT 39, ALP 74 So Ledifos is definitely working. Off course the final confirmation would be PCR, and I will see with my doc about timing for PCR. Should I do one at week 4 or wait until the end of 12w tx. As for side effects, sometimes mild headaches that don't last long, I have good appetite and sleep well. Have some skin issues on my shoulders and back, and blurry vision, but nothing even similar to pegi/riba hell I went through for 4 months last year. Genotype 1b & 4, F0/A1, failed Peg&Riba TX 2015, 22 Jan. 2016 - Back from Delhi with 12 week Ledifos supply Started TX on 27.Jan.2016 - AST 41, ALT 59, GGT 39, ALP 74, VL 500.000, Fibroscan 6.8 19. Feb 2016 - ALT 14, AST 14, GGT 19, ALP 107 19. Apr 2016 EOT - Undetected 26. Apr 2016 (1 week after EOT) - ALT 14, AST 17, GGT 12, ALP 77 28. Aug 2016 (17 weeks after EOT) - UND, ALT 15, AST 12, GGT 5, ALP 39 The following user(s) said Thank You: Ariel | |

Those results look good! For the PCR I think it depends how confident you and your doctor are and how convenient/costly it is for you to get tests. Probably do one at 4 or 6 weeks to reassure you that Tx is working well. If undetected then really no need to test until four weeks after EOT for SVR4 and then again at SVR12 and/or SVR24. If the 4 week test is still detected you may want to do one at 8 weeks to check. More won't hurt but aren't strictly needed. My good doc is working in public hospital and will monitor my progress because he wants to help, and by his words I'm the first patient with Harvoni. In Serbia Ledipasvir is still not registered so officially he cannot order too much PCR's because of its cost. Well probably do one on week 4-6 like you suggested and then after tx. Just started my last Ledifos bottle. So far nothing special to report. Some minor side effects, mostly skin rash issues, and some little hair thining. Mild headaches now and then was taken care only by drinking lots of water. My first PCR is due EOT. Just popped up my last Ledifos pill today. Tomorrow will draw blood for first PCR during tx. During last 12 weeks nothing special about side effects to report. Mainly it was gassy stomach, very dry skin especially on elbows, and slight hair thinning and loss. Very few headaches, and energy levels little higher than usual. Been reading a lot about success rates, and hoping my double genotype will not interfere in some strange way with SVR. I'm also starting with milk thistle and as low carbs as I can for the first 4 weeks if that can help getting at SVR4 mark. Still waiting for PCR EOT results, expecting them later this week. Meanwhile since I'm not a patient fellow, and reading a thread here about possible relapse where good doc Freeman suggested LFT test as a quick check, did one few days ago, and numbers are reassuring: ALT 14, AST 17, GGT 12, ALP 77 so hopefully bug is extinct or dying. Thx to all for good wishes and karma. First checkpoint successfully passed. Undetected at EOT Forgot what that means in success rate, but hoping for the best. Yep still wondering how I got them. Was it 2 cases of exposure, one exposure to both, or virus mutated which is also a possibility. Here is a research I found about multiple genotypes: www.bccdc.ca/resource-gallery/Documents/...oad_Rec_20150609.pdf Last paragraph is very interesting: For all treatment experienced patients, whether they are considered a non-responder or they relapsed post-therapy, or, if re-infection is a consideration, the HCV genotyping should be repeated prior to retreatment. Been today to my public doc to present undetected EOT results, and due to Harvoni tx not yet approved by the officials, he didnt have the grounds to ask for PCR SVR4 test, so I will have to wait for 12 weeks to do one, but will do a "poor man's SVR" or LFT's next week which would be SVR6. Hopefully ALT will be normal, and if not, well the battle will continue. Well it has been awhile since my last post. In the meantime I felt better and better, and 17 weeks after EOT I did PCR. Results are still negative, and hopefully now I can say that both dragons are slayed LFT results has never been lower: ALT 15, AST 12, GGT 6, ALP 39 I was really worried because of my double genotype and very little info on cases like mine, but for now generics magic works great. Want to thank everyone here for support, great doc Freeman for valuable info, mr.Parag Jain of Bullpharmachem who provided ledifos and was great friend and tour guide for me in Delhi, and of course inspiring Greg Jefferys, with whom I started this amazing escape from dragons den last May.
