Sure Jolie it has given us treatment power, but these drugs do need expert advice. Please don't do any drug combinations without expert advice. Drugs interact with each other. You could end up with organ failure if not following the experts. We do this is cause the drugs are far too expensive not the drug combinations are wrong. I am a 3 non responder with cirrhosis, a hard to treat category, even though desperate to clear this virus, I wouldn't mix medicines. kindly

Please don't worry, I won't be mixing anything myself. Said that the med I have in mind is already approved with combination of Sofo it,s called Velpatasvir. No you can't get Semiprivir separately. My gastroenterologist was initially open to the idea of prescribing it for use with Sof if I couldn't get anything else and chucking away the interferon as it would still be saving the government money. But on reflection, he had concerns it might be considered fraud and then the comp access dac was available so it was a moot point. I was talking to someone from Hep NSW the other day and told them they should lobby for Semiprivir to be listed separately as it could be helpful in some hard to treat cases. Doubt they'll do anything about it though. I remember reading on Greg's blog that Semiprevir is available on it's own, from the chemist with a script from your doctor. So I dug it out, under Sept. 3:://hepatitisctreatment.homestead.com/hepatitis-c-treatment.html Perhaps the good doctor could clarify. NSW Australia. See here: www.pbs.gov.au/medicine/item/10197q-10200w Click on authority required. James has previously said he can't prescribe it. Think he said that only 2 docs in Tassie could one of whom is my gastroenterologist at RHH liver clinic. If you look at the PBS entry including the "Note" section you'll see there's all sorts of hoops to jump through in regard to the prescribing of it. God I am so effing sick of typing with one finger on my left hand. Comes off Tuesday thank god. I can use it for a lot of things but the cast won't let my wrist flex so still not much good for typing. Your first problem with velpatasvir berri will be finding a generic maker who doesn't need a script for it. Don't think it's TGA approved yet so no one in Oz will be able to prescribe it. Think the FDA has either just approved it or is close to doing so. Thanks, my current treatment is for 24 weeks. By the way I have been really struggling physically with this treatment. Couldn't exercise as usual, nanny naps, particularly after eating so tired I had to sleep. Now at the 8 week mark. Complete change. Very strange. kindly
