That's such great news Tigerfan. It's always special to see people that had to suffer interferon finally win the battle. Congratulations. #flower

I contracted HCV as a teenager; carried it around for 40 years; killed it last year with EPCLUSA; my liver tests reflect zero (0) damage; and I succeeded in my ultimate goal----getting an insurer to issue the key man life coverage that I needed.

So, I am just one of those blessed people for which HCV has no negative consequences. I thought that it simply carried no symptoms for me.............until I applied to renew my expired U.S. Passport.

The passport photograph of the 2005 Tigerfan reflects a knarled, wrinkled, conflicted face, while the 2019 passport photograph reflects a man clearly 20 years younger. The contrast can only be explained by the absence of the bug.

Good luck to all!

Tigerfan

Sounds awesome Tigerfan, enjoy looking 20 years younger :) . It's a well known fact that Hep C can affect every organ of the body, including the largest one, the skin. You're quite fortunate that it didn't affect your liver.

That's awesome to hear Tigerfan. When I look at my old passports I see some really funny photos.

There's the one where I got rained on before the photo so my hair is stuck to my head in a 1920s waxed down style.

Then there's the one with my ponytail pulled back and a peace symbol hanging round my neck.

Then there's the one where I was off to a small war and had a #1 buzz cut.

At least that one prepared me for my current look which is grey and thinning on top. It's approaching the time to whip out the clippers. Either that or pay a visit to Donald Trump's stylist.
YMMV

My damn barber insists on showing me the back. He does a great job given the absence of hair to work with and the ever increasing bald spot! At the moment I can't see it from the front. The day I can is the day I go clippers #1 please!

Hi Tigerfan,

It's good to hear from you and congratulations on getting that insurance. I could feel a bit cheated that I didn't look 20 years younger after my cure but accept that I certainly feel like I've shed a few years in terms of energy and outlook. Best wishes.....

Dr James - you are nowhere near ready yet but when the time comes I vote for the clippers#1 over the comb over...
