Yes it is big, and in so many ways.

- It is not sponsored by Big Pharma.
- The sof/dac combo will finally get the trial results that have been sorely lacking.
- The generics naysayers will have nowhere to hide.

... and so much more which will no doubt unfold in the fullness of time.

That is above my pay grade. If I were an insurer, I would be huddling with my legal beagles coming up with a release from liability form for clients to sign who opted for clinical trial treatment coverage.
Since it makes sense, I doubt they will do that.

Generally speaking, I have never heard of a medical insurer who would cover "experimental treatment", which is what trials usually come under. They usually only cover treatment approved by the regulatory body, ie. the FDA, NHS, PBS etc. But this is an interesting case because brand name sof, led and dac are all approved drugs. So what category will be applied to the generic sof, led and dac used in this trial?
ie. "experimental" or "approved".

I guess somebody will have to make a claim to find out.

Yeah both yourself and Mike make some good points, when I started treatment I had to sign a disclaimer with my aftercare provider - even though the medication I was taking was on the Med Safe list, much the same as Sof, Led & Dac are approved by the FDA.

I think it would be well worth further investigation.
