I completed 12 weeks of Harvoni in November 2016 and also have BAD ringing in my ears. I am taking Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D. I found a tinnitus forum online www.tinnitustalk.com/
Some on the forum have tried alternative therapies. I ordered Jarrow Formulas N-A-C (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) and will be trying that also in about a week.

Thanks beahavan , It's good we post these little side effects so others know what to expect and the doctors and others , well together we can figure out what to do .

Sometimes if I am busy my mind ignores the buzzing/ringing. However, if It is quiet or if I am trying to fall asleep it becomes quite loud and annoying. I have taken to listening to podcasts from a cellphone placed near my pillow. I am not getting enough sleep. If you learn anything from your doctor please post on this thread.
I have also searched the Internet about tinnitus and sofosbuvir and this has been a problem for others. My tinnitus started on my 20th day of treatment when I also experienced a stiff neck. The stiff neck went away the next day but the tinnitus has lasted over 9 months. I've learned on the tinnitus forum that many things can cause tinnitus so remedies will vary. Perhaps because our cause is the same then then our solution will be similar. Thanks

Glad that you're doing well on the meds. I too have had side effects, not so much headaches but feeling fluey and upset stomach, disturbed sleep. Dr F suggested I reduce my dac dose to 45mg due to my weight which has helped a bit. Like yourself I've avoided taking pain killers/antibiotics etc for fear of harming my liver and upsetting my already upset tummy which has plagued me for years. What you say about adjusting the ph to your water is interesting as ph is so important. How do you do this to water please? Are their kits in the pharmacy that I just haven't noticed?

Oh I've just read further down this page and see that you're undetected - yay! That's brilliant! I'm just over 10 weeks into sof/dac, still detectable on a very low level but on Dr. F's advise have just ordered another 4 weeks of meds that should do the trick. I certainly hope so as the side effects have eased but some days I feel really crappy, and I'm so looking forward to the end of treatment, but that day will come. So glad for you though. I know what you meant about wanting to spread the word, I feel like going to the liver clinic waiting room in the hospital and letting people know that they can do it for themselves, if like myself they weren't eligible for the treatment on the NHS. I won't though as I'm sure it would go down like a lead balloon with the hospital staff.

It's history Greedfighter !!! Next month is the 12 week blood work up !!! SVR12 It's good ,well not good that a lot of people have had the tinnitus lingering on after treatment , Mine started after week 2 and I finished up about 2 months ago .If I had to choose a word to describe the hearing thing it would be sensitive , like right now I can hear the high pitch noise from this computer ,same with the T.V. , Because I have experimented with them on and off and I can hear the electrical noise . But that's what's great about these forums because I'm positive a solution will be found for all !!! ( But all in all ringing in the ears is a small price to pay ) Oh yea I can tell my body has come back on line, for years I have never been able to gain weight ( 160 lbs from 30ys old till now ) Now I really got to watch what I eat seems like if I looks at some foods I gain weight ! lol but I am at 175 lbs now and wondering where the heck did this belly come from ? lol Like my body is no longer in survival mode ! Right now I started taking liquid B-12 three times a day to see how that addresses the hearing sensitivity .

Well another blood test , I have had a nasty flu or whatever is going around , I still need to train these jokers as I told them to do a viral load and a fibroscan but no they just did a Hep panel it all looks good but the Billirubin is up a little 2.0 last time 1.5 , I need to talk to the doc again to get the VL and Fibroscan done while I still have insurance , don't know what's going to happen here in the states with insurance . If I don't have it , it will be cheaper for me to have it done in another country . Humm sounds like a good excuse to leave for a warmer climate this winter .

2bornot2b I have been using Booster for my water fron pHion ( you can look them up ) one is an ion booster and the other a ph booster , I used to use a kagen water machine . Hope this helps ya .

Hi Sumblues....You have to point out exactly what test you want....Hep C panel is a lot cheaper than a VL test and they may be jerking you around. Sit them down and explain you want a PCR Quantitative Viral load test. If they don't do it , find another doctor.

Thanks Greedfighter , I have been seeing these people since I found out back in 2005 . I usually only saw them once a year for my annual blood test , and when I tried out that nasty interferon, incivic crap that almost killed me. That doctor learns a lot from these forums . I had a VL test in the end of Feb , which was undectected . But I would like another one and a fibroscan too ! I'll shoot for Sept. I'm just glad to be alive another day to be with my wife and daughter and see what God's got in store for the day !!!! Today is the present so lets open up the gift and see what's in it !!!

Howdy everyone , You know for the last 4 yrs my energy level was going down , like a light dimmer switch. I could only work for an hour or so then needed to rest. I can't believe it I tore off my old roof shingles and hauled them to the dump ( It 'bout killed me , mind says yes , body says what are ya thinking lol ) , but I did it and got it all ready for the shingles to be installed . I am sore and muscles ache and such but I feel good . I am still undetected (Yea !!! ) and have been looking for ways to boost up the immune system ( by the way liquid B-12 is helping with the ringing in the ears ) I am trying some stuff from Immunotec called Immunocal Platinum it is a Gluathione Precursor anyway it seems pretty powerful , and I have used Univera products in the past . It's good to be alive and feel productive , not like I'm using every ounce of energy to do it too !!! Coming back on line , Thank you Fix Hep -C .
