The Mesochem APIs are pure. You can't know if you are SVR 12 until 12 weeks after you stop treatment. If the virus is present at that point, the entire process starts from the beginning. Hi D, Do you mean if you are UNDETECTED at week 12, you will continue? Were you undetected at week 4? If so, you should be undetected as long as you are taking the meds. Its been just 11 days for me on the meds. No I mean I will continue for 16 weeks BUT after 12 weeks if I have achieved SVR then I will stop after 16 weeks. But If I am UD at 4 and again at 8 weeks I think I am sorted For me the side effects on Harvoni have been nothing too serious BUT I dont want to add Riba at any stage. As 86 said, you can't have SVR while you are still on meds. SVR is Sustained Virological Response measured after end of treatment (EOT). You are confusing SVR with UND (Undetected). If you are UND after 4 weeks on meds you almost certainly will be UND after 12 weeks of meds. But for SVR12 you need to be UND 12 weeks after finishing taking meds. OK so we are back to square 1 or incase of my fear I take it for 24 weeks and then wait 12 more to see if I have achieved SVR. So confused now BUT I got it SVR is only got after finishing treatment and that too 12 weeks after that So the entire process is 24 weeks. Sorry guys I am not a native English speaker sometimes is difficult to understand. My apologies. Ditto, no apology necessary. I was pretty confused with all the jargon when I first started looking into this and learned lots more in the couple of weeks I've been on this forum. Still get confused! I think Dr James posted elsewhere that treatment should be longer if you are F4. Edit - I see he posted while I was writing this. You need to take 24 continuous weeks of treatment to achieve the best results. If you take 12 weeks your success rate will be ~ 85% ie 15% fail rate (1:6) 1 chance in 6 of relapse If you take 24 weeks your success rate will be ~ 95% ie 5% fail rate (1:20) 1 chance in 20 of relapse 1:20 is much better odds than 1:6 We assess treatment success in the weeks following FINISHING treatment SVR4 = Undetectable (UND) 4 weeks after treatment stops and means 96% chance permanent cure SVR12 = Undetectable (UND) 12 weeks after treatment stops and means 99% chance permanent cure SVR24 = Undetectable (UND) 24 weeks after treatment stops and means 99.8% chance permanent cure YMMV

Thanks guys. I have my bloods after 18 days and then MRI of the upper abdomin so lets see how it goes. Its my state that pays so they will go all the way to help me. Thank God its no Insurance as then the finance part THEN comes in. My fibroscan showed 26 kpa but the doc could not be sure of cirrhosis and I did NOT want a biopsy so now hes doing the MRI AND NO bloody IDEA from where I got this damn HCV Treatment naive F 3/4 Genotype 1 a & b V/L 17 MILLION Started Harvoni 11th Dec 2015 for 12 weeks 4 weeks VL UND 6 WEEKS ALT 32, AST 34 EOT 03/03 2016 ! No apologies needed. But....with F3/4 fibrosis 12 weeks of Harvoni will give mid 80-90% chance of cure.. 24 weeks of harvoni will give better chance of cure. So if you don't want to use Ribavirin then you can do 24 weeks of Harvoni to give the same or even better result than Ribavarin. But it will cost more. You could try 16 or 20 weeks too, but I can not advise which would be best for you. Edit: I see Dr Freeman recommends.24 weeks for ~ 95% G3a since '78 - Dx '12 - F4 (2xHCC) 24wk Tx - PEG/Riba/Dac 2013 relapsed 24wk Tx - Generic Sof/Dac/Riba 2015/16 relapsed 16wk Tx - 12/01/17 -> 03/05/17 NS3/NS5a + Generic Sof SVR7 - 22/06/17 UND SRV12 - 27/07/17 UND SVR24 - 26/10/17 UND The following user(s) said Thank You: darbara

Take 24 weeks treatment. God smiles on those who take 24 weeks more often, so sayeth the statisticians. YMMV
