Switching tx from sof+led to sof+dac - thoughts? 8 years 3 months ago #6425

Thanks LondonGirl. No I haven't had any treatment before and bad LFT was what led me to being diagnosed, but all okay now at the moment. Of course I am not questioning Dr Freeman's advice but I just get a bit uncomfortable when I read about some members who are extending their treatment and/or speaking about different combinations. Just me being a worrier I guess.......not so long to go now so fingers crossed. :)
Lives in Bendigo, Victoria
No prior treatment Genotype 1b Fibroscan 0 (only showed a bit of a fatty liver) Diagnosed in February 2015 Currently on my last week of treatment taking led/sof Last LFT normal
Insomnia the only side effect
Undetected at 4 weeks
SVR4 - undetected - all bloods good and GP very happy
SVR12 bloods to be done at end of April 2016
SVR12 - undetected!!!

Hey DT

I was actually on a path to attempt this with my extension post 12 weeks however some extra Dac fell into my hand. I too am a fan of Dac but believe the mixing up of the dac and led might have some benefit. Not because ones better than the other but because it's just different. I'm thinking the triple sfv led or dcv and smv would be the bomb in terms of tx. So ns5b, ns5a, ns4a/b? might have those wrong but it mucks with the process just a little bit more and a superior combined kill log. However, the elusive smv is hard to source for some reason. In Australia it was offered in combination with IFN/riba and now that the Australian government has ditched IFN they have a supply which might need a home so triple tx may become a reality here?? . Em
Geno 1b F2/3 snce early 80s. Treated in 2008_9 for 63 weeks on INF/Riba. Commence Sof/Dac on 6 October 2015 and completed 18 weeks of tx. UND at 4-6 weeks, UND at EOT, SVR 2, SVR 6 and SVR 12 on 6 May 2016.
