Sorry if this has been asked before. I’ve trawled around and can’t find the answer.
Does anyone know how long it takes for Sof/Dac to completely clear from the body after end of treatment?
Thanks and best wishes to all.

The short answer is that Sofosbuvir has a half life of about one day (27hrs) so the approximate concentration in your body halves each day once you have finished treatment. Eg.
EOT 100%
Day 1. 50%
Day 2. 25%
Day 3. 12%
Day 4. 6%
Day 5. 3%
Day 6. < 2% Day 7. < 1% Daclatasvir's half life is 12-15hrs so will clear from your body twice as fast so both these meds are mostly gone from our bodies very quickly. Here is a more detailed explanation from Dr Freeman on how long it takes before Sof/Led are completely gone.

12 May 2017 at 4:21 pm #26042Wow, thanks Gaj! I knew someone on here would come up with the answer. I’m so impressed with the entire generic Hep C meds community. There’s always someone, somewhere willing to give their time to answer my questions. I’ve had far more support than the NHS were willing to give me. Funny that, when it was them who infected me in the first place.

25 May 2017 at 8:56 am #26168While this site from Gilead suggests limiting caffeine: http://www.harvoni.com/discover-harvoni/common-side-effects
The official product literature: https://www.gilead.com/~/media/Files/pdfs/medicines/liver-disease/harvoni/harvoni_pi.pdf
Does not mention it.
Caffeine has been shown to delay development of fibrosis and life without coffee would render me dysfunctional and sad so I can find plenty of reasons to go with literature #2 rather than #1
YMMV

Aaaaah!!! That’s better.
(It appears the recommendation refers to reducing Harvoni side effect of headaches rather than reducing the medication’s effectiveness.)
