Howdy Had results back from tests done at 2 weeks. Other than the rbc dropping from 147 to 110 everything else is normal. ALT prior to treatment was 66, now 27. AST was 60 now 25. Been out of breath, headachy, sometimes dizzy over the past 5 days, which aligns with the lowered red bloods, but fingers crossed this doesn't drop any lower. All the best Balance

Hi Balance, I presume you are using Ribavirin. That is a pretty rapid drop. You should have another check of your blood count at rhe 3 week mark rather than 4 weeks. YMMV

Hi Balance, That sounds like a good plan. It will probably stabilise but best to keep a close eye on it because of the rapidity of that drop. It takes a while for ribavirin to come out of a person's system so in the event we need a dose reduction, or to stop it, we need to be on the ball. YMMV

HI again Haemoglobin has dropped further now 97 was 110. I am taking 1000mg, which the hepc nurse suggests I drop by 400mg. 1 tablet in the morning and 2 at night. Next blood tests are due on the 9th. The hope is not to lose too much of the benefits of the ribaviran due to the reduced dosage. Balance

Hello Balance, Yes, reducing it down is a good idea and Hep C nurses have a lot of experience in this so following that advice sounds like a good plan. YMMV

Interesting enough the nurse refers to this site for information. Guess that makes the site world famous in NZ! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction of tests at the 3 week mark. I think when your feeling quite low the anxiety tends to build, but feeling there is a plan in place now. Much appreciated Balance

Hello Balance, I don't think there is another site anywhere in the world with more information about Hep C than FixHepC, thanks to the vast knowledge of Dr James and the experience and camaraderie of the good people in this forum. You're in good hands
