The Richard Thompson version is from a very interesting LP called 1,000 Years of Popular Music (ok it only goes back 600 or so years) and the Satchmo version I found from random browsing. A lucky find indeed.

Lost my own dad a few years ago. Seems like yesterday sometimes. Born in the mountains of West Virginia. Died in the hills of Kentucky in a house he built with his own hands.

They're gone, but their love with always be with us.
