Do ya'll over in West OZ say "ya'll" too? There are several different forms of ya'll over here in the states. First off, "Ya'll" is a southern thing. Just so ya'll know.
Yankees (mostly anyone who doesn't come from the south, or who we don't know) don't ever say ya'll. If a yankee does say ya'll, they're not fooling us. We still know they're a yankee.
There are different forms of ya'll. There's the old south, polite "You All". Then there's just "Ya'll" ... a contraction of "You All". Then there's "All Ya'll". When someone says "All Ya'll", they're usually referring to Yankees. Like "Where'd all ya'll come from?" But it can be used in a positive way as well like, "All ya'll come on over to the barbecue, Sunday."
Oh, and if someone uses "ya'll", whatever you do, don't refer to them as a 'yankee' or a 'yank' . Trust me on this.
