Potential 3-week treatment? 8 years 6 months ago #2101
Just found this article via reddit, suggesting a combination of Sofosbuvir, ledipasvir or daclatasvir, and a third simeprevir or asunaprevir has even greater efficacy than the current DAA's

Hi Paul! I carry the same genotype 3a as you do. I was just searching the web to find out what combos were rigth to fight our genotype. Found that with just Sofosbuvir + Ribavirin the treatment shoul be of 24 weeks. On this forum I was told that the combo you are taking is the right option for us. I see that you're already on the way with it. My question is for how long you'll take it and how did you got the meds? I'd rather stay away from the ribavirin, but, if there is no other way... it certainly beats the peginterferon! I was never treated, between F1 and F2, very fatty liver and begun some ten days ago to start feeling some symptons. Thanks a lot from Argentina | |

| Hi puzzled the Sof and Dac combo seems to be the best option and 12 weeks should do it, i've signed on for 24 weeks which is could be overkill but I allready was a non responder to a Dac trial with Peg and Riba. I accessed meds through Buyers Club. so far this seems to be a killer combo. I'm not sure how you access meds into Argentina maybe direct shipment not sure . On another note I will be flying into Buenos Aires in Janurary to jump on a cruise ship. cheers Two time relapser. Thanks Paul for your fast reply... Usually in January Buenos Aires gets really hot weather wise. Temperatures could rise up to the upper 30 degrees, some times nearing 40 C, but that's an exception. The good thing about january is that a lot of people goes off to vacation somewhere else and the city is not that crowded. At night feels much better. So don't miss the Tango shows in San Telmo. Too bad you wont be able to taste some of our very good red wines! And be careful with the "parrilladas" (a lot of different kinds of meats on a single serving) some are really high on fats. I'll probably be in Buenos Aires by then. If so, I could drive around to show you the city. Although, chances are I could be flying to somewhere in the world to get the meds. Australia, China, Bangladesh or India by then. I really hope that twelve weeks would do the job. I can't wait to regain my energies. Until now I've been loosing strenght and close to give up hope. This forum has been an injection of new life for me... Best wishes and if there is anything you need to know about Buenos Aires, just let me know. Julio The puzzled nickname was just to show how I felt about this ordeal, but i'm feeling more and more Unpuzzled... | |

Does look promising, especially if Govts were leaning towards the 8wk regimen anyway. Anything to make it more attractive to the bureaucratic purse.
