Notes for New Zealanders bringing in meds 8 years 4 months ago #3974

Yes Em you are right, there are no problems with bringing the meds into New Zealand.
I have returned home today from Hobart and just breezed through customs. I do recommend that you carry a copy of your script and as an extra back up I had a letter from my specialist stating the medication are for personal use.

It appears that you can get Ribavirin in New Zealand with just a GP prescription but it is expensive.
I tried 3 Pharmacists, one didn't get back to me, one could get Riba + Peg-IF at NZ$2200 per month, one could get Riba at NZ$1300 per month.
It is much cheaper to import it.
