The Twinvir was part of some samples we had for RVR testing so we decided to pop young J on the RVR group and start before the routine meds arrived. One week bloods showed complete normalisation of LFTs and viral load will be to hand mid this week. YMMV The following user(s) said Thank You: CJ

Hi Doc James, Thanks for explaining that. He's going really well, can't wait to hear how his VL is when that comes back from Lab. Probably not clear yet, but hope the dragon's getting a hell of a battering J the young dragon slayer is: HepC 1a since birth Male aged 15 VL 2000000 Started Twinvir/ 10-11-15-then Sof/led. I hate to say this , don't want to worry others on the meds, but J has been suddenly really ill. He started vomiting violently at 4am & has kept going, now just bile & he is in so much pain when he does vomit. My local GP( talked on phone) wants me to take him to emergency at hospital but I'm worried to do this as they don't know about generics, my GP doesn't know he's on them either as she objected so fiercely. J may just have a tummy bug, but he can't keep anything down (water), so can't give him his meds. I don't know what to do?! Based on everybody else's experience on these meds, I highly doubt it's the cause. More likely a flu bug. Was anybody sick when he did his animal rescue day? In any case, if he's getting dehydrated you don't want to be putting this off. And to pre-empt your GP jumping to conclusions and blaming the meds, have documentation on treatment handy, especially info on side effects. _______________________________ Only click this if you have a dark sense of humor... Hi CJ, Don't give J more meds till you know why he is vomiting. Hopefully you have made contact with Dr James by now. If not then ring fixhepc at the number above or GP2U and ask them. Failing that get him to hospital and tell them the exact generics he is on. His health is more important than anything else. G PS I agree with Klhilde that generics probably aren't the issue but don't take risks due to concern about what your doc thinks or says. Yes, CJ and I have spoken and a plan is in place involving blood tests and Zofran and lots of sips of fluid. Young J's tummy is soft which is reassuring that it's not appendicitis or other serious worries. YMMV

Thank you for all the well wishes! Dr James is fantastic, he got J to have bloods done & even sent a script for Zofran to settle his tummy enough to go to blood place without vomiting! He kept in touch with me & was the most diligent doc I've ever come across, wish there were more like him! He immediately realised that J had caught a gastro bug probably off my husband who's just returned from Thailand last week sick as a dog with Influenza A, Rhinovirus AND Entrerovirus It has nothing at all to do with the generics. But he couldn't have his dose yesterday. Today he is a lot better & able to keep down some food so he's back on meds. It's frightening when I can't take him to a local GP for advice because they are all so COMPLETELY anti- Generics. Hi klhilde, You asked about the ring tailed possum J saved while working last week at the rescue animal place, it evidently went to a WIRES carer after a visit to a vet, so all good. The funny thing is that a couple days ago I found one here at my place , it had made a nest in one of my cat carry box out the back veranda, it was all snug in there with it's branches & a little moe hair rug!! with it's tiny sweet face pearing out at me! I had to move it so it wouldn't get discovered by my cat but let it keep its luxurious new home, I just moved it ( in the carrier) down the back under cover in an old tree house.it's his carrier/home now I can't work out how it got into the veranda & found this nice little home as it's all enclosed because I don't let my cat out to kill wild life, guess it was so small it squeezed through the lattice. Anyway, he's a lucky little possum. Thanks for your help with J. J the young dragon slayer is: HepC 1a since birth Male aged 15 VL 2000000 Started Twinvir/ 10-11-15-then Sof/led. Hi Coral, yes at last I got some sleep!! & yes he's much better. I was so worried it might have been the orals, that would have been disastrous. But it's NOT, so all's good that ends well J the young dragon slayer is: HepC 1a since birth Male aged 15 VL 2000000 Started Twinvir/ 10-11-15-then Sof/led.
