Like many medications the new Hep C medications can interact with other medications you might be taking. Please use this site to check is any medications you're on will interact with medications you're planning to take. www.hep-druginteractions.org/checker YMMV

Hi James Could you please explain how one would manage being on setraline/zoloft when commencing treatment of sofosbruvir and daclatsavir? I've checked out the interactions table and still don't understand the ramifications? I guess I'm asking for myself who has remained on this AD since my last treatment and for all hepers, as many would be in the same situation. If there is any question on interaction I'd like to wean off the AD prior to commencing, maybe? Em Edit: I'm on 50mg daily, well most days when I remember! Geno 1b F2/3 snce early 80s. Treated in 2008_9 for 63 weeks on INF/Riba. Commence Sof/Dac on 6 October 2015 and completed 18 weeks of tx. UND at 4-6 weeks, UND at EOT, SVR 2, SVR 6 and SVR 12 on 6 May 2016.

www.hep-druginteractions.org/checker So if you go through the process and
You can get a PDF of that as well. However if you go and look at some of the research you can be reassured to find: Comparative CYP3A4 inhibitory effects of venlafaxine, fluoxetine, sertraline, and nefazodone in healthy volunteers. Which says: These results demonstrate in vivo that, unlike nefazodone, venlafaxine, sertraline, and fluoxetine do not possess significant metabolic inductive or inhibitory effects on CYP3A4. So you're good to take the 60 mg Daclatasvir dose, rather than have to reduce to 30 mg or stop the problem medication. YMMV

Thanks James I was looking at another interactions document and also saw this one but didn't realise it was a 'tool' as such. Thank you. Em Geno 1b F2/3 snce early 80s. It will not cause any problems with your medication. The 1/2 life is 2 hours so the levels in your blood look like 0 1 2 1/2 4 1/4 6 1/8 8 1/16 10 1/32 12 1/64 14 1/128 16 1/256 18 1/512 20 1/1024 22 1/2048 24 1/4096 etc. In other words it takes very little time to get rid of it from your system. | Dear all, Me again ! Still asking about the Alpha Lipoic Acid - Have taken this on initial diagnosis, VL and bloods came right down, although this could also have something to do with a seriously healthy eating plan. Stopped taking it for a while (it's quite expensive) - VLwent up and bloods worsened, including Alt 61- 114. Am currently back on it - Alt back down to 76, last VL 900,000, waiting on latest VL result. but my question remains, does anyone know if I can continue with taking ALA when on treatment? | Hi Dan, Thanks, have just seen that - Great news. Think I sent you this info / links a while ago? but prob too many emails ago now I would imagine! I have been advised against H & B by a medical/scientific herbalist - I only use Lamberts, you can google them , they are online. They definitely seem to help me anyway and started the B12 again, pulsating feeling seems to have calmed down too, could be coincidence, then again it might be as a result I do know that ages ago I did some very thorough research before buying and advising, read medical papers etc Warm wishes to you and hope the eczema starts to clear soon.
