For those of you who still have a few vices, here is an article called: Alcohol Use Among Veterans with HCV Does Not Blunt SVR Rates from DAAs www.clinicaladvisor.com/aasld-2016/alcoh...daas/article/571410/ www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5341745/ Don't take this as a recommendation to have Hep C and add the additional liver toxicity from alcohol, but don't let the fact you still like a drink convince you that treatment is futile, or should be put off. In fact, for you, there is even more reason to treat - a healthy liver can deal with detoxifying alcohol better. Your chances of curing your hep C are the same whether you drink or not. YMMV | |

| I drank every day during treatment. I took my Twinvir tablets with Heineken I'm not proud...I'm trying to stop drinking, but don't not treat just because you are drinking. You will be cured just the same. Then you can work on sobriety like me. GF....good for you. I've been around for a while. There are good and bad drunks. Curious on how many Heiney's you imbibed. A couple or three should not label anyone a drunk unless you become a total a-hole. | Hi re_roll 3-4 beers, sometimes a 6 but not everyday anymore. Still trying to get it down to once a week. It's hard as I am single with a stressful job. I'm either stressed or bored. But I never drive or cause any mischief. Since HCV eradication and education is our goal here, I will make this short. BTW, you have done a very good job. Now that I know that I am SVR 99.9% (one is never cured), I like to drink w/o the sickle dude in the black robe following me daily. Having beers or cocktails after a stressful day is relaxing and therapeutic. Don't know you personally, but if a few Heineys can cause issues for you, then quit, If not, enjoy life. It is shorter than anyone thinks. Hi all found this on Youtube: Apparently Jerry Lewis said the glass was full of juice after Dean Martin died. Dean only really abused the grog in the time before he died.
