Don't worry Trublu85- that is the case for most people! no side effects is good luck, the pills are magic and do the most incredible job. You are 2 weeks in, in fact they have done the biggest volume of virus killing, rest of the time is clearing the tough stragglers. Keep up the water and before you know it there will be blood tests to show you, it really is all that. Genotype 3 30 years, 2x treatment interferon/ribavirin non responder. Cirrhosis 17 years. Fibroscan, decompensating, 40 down to 22 by 29/3/16- now down to 6.5, normal, no cirrhosis. Started Buyers Club Sof/Dac 14 Nov 15. SVR 12 29/0716

Hi Trublue85, welcome to the forum. As Hazel said, the new medications are really amazing. Their side effects are very mild or do not exist in most people. So don't worry, as long as the medications are from a trustworthy source, they are most definitely working. After completing the first 4 weeks of treatment, your first monitoring blood test should also confirm that, your virus load at that point should be substantially lower or undetected. Best of luck.

Its working. I had the same concerns. It seems there would have to be side effects for something powerful enough to get rid of HCV, but, for many, there are none. Your virus guests are feeling the pain about now. Get well. Mike This email address is being protected from spambots. Welcome TruBlue You are fortunate to be finding your tx very easy and I hope you continue to have a smooth transition to becoming HCV free. I kept my fluids up whilst on tx over two years ago now, and felt slightly sleepless toward the end of the 12 week course. Wishing you well and thank you for sharing your query here, everyone has their own personal experience and we are all different. Hello Trueblue85, One of the reasons I stay involved in generic Hep C treatment (now that Australia has open access to the medications) is that in over 2 decades of clinical medicine I have never seen such amazing medications. My father likens it to the invention of penicillin. Most student doctors have this dream of doing secret doctor stuff and making patients better. The reality is a bit different... With DAAs I can give patients back their health. That makes them feel good, they usually say thanks, and that makes me feel good. Helping patients get treated, whether that is with originator or generic medication has been the highlight of my medical career, although this bit was fun too... YMMV

Hello TruBlu85 Yep like everyone says. The side effects I had was my sleep quality improved out of this world. I had more energy and my brain fog lifted. I started to swim faster. All these within days. Also I stopped getting caffeine withdrawal headaches (I have 2 cups a day max but I used to get killer headaches if I hadn't had one by late morning) Got a headache occasionally but only for a few minutes It truly is a miracle treatment. Good luck with your journey to health. Genotype 1a Diagnosed in 2004, had HCV for all my adult life. Until 2016!!!!
