It's pretty obvious I have an affinity for Mark Twain. His earthy humor and common man view on a wide range of topics is still relevant a century later. His biography is amazing.
I particularly like his take on the qualities of a great sermon:

1. A captivating, rousing beginning
2. A moving and inspirational closing
3. The two as close together as possible
