Harvard Study Finally Admits Drug Prices are High Because Govt Grants Big Pharma a Monopoly. In what can only be described as paradigm-shattering research on drug prices, the Journal of the American Medical Association has officially recognized why drug prices skyrocket in America. hepatitiscnewdrugs.blogspot.com/2016/08/...lly-admits-drug.html This email address is being protected from spambots. Thanks Mike. My feeling is that we've finally seen the high water mark on drug pricing and that the tide is on the turn. YMMV | |

Thanks for posting this Mike. It's such a great article that covers so many of the key issues including the current cost of HepC treatment set by Gilead, the fact that cheaper generics are available, the conflict of interest of key players and the role of government etc. Good to see the following words printed in this journal: Although prices are often justified by the high cost of drug development, there is no evidence of an association between research and development costs and prices; rather, prescription drugs are priced..............primarily on the basis of what the market will bear.
