Gilead's CEO made 1 billion last year. Why would you ever work again? If I had 2 million I would never work another day

Gilead is just a sign of the times in USA, everyone is grabbing what they can before the country turns third world, which it seems like it will in the next decade. President Bush signed a secret agreement to merge Mexico, USA and Canada (North American Union), which means it will be a very large version of Mexico! Part of the role of a good CEO is to maximise returns for shareholders, while remembering that most shareholders are not merely profit takers but review their investments for longer term value. Another part, the non performance related reason for their substantial renumeration, is the ability to step aside should strategic change be required. I notice he remains as executive chairman.

Hi Tommy. Like a true Republican, you just attack me without a comeback of any substance. There is a North American Union agreement in place. You said nothing but I don't have a clue. I read WikiLeaks which show classified documents from the government revealing the truth. Believe what you like, but to me classified documents revealing facts are truth. TPP will block drug importation of unapproved drugs, which all generic versions of HepC meds are. And even without the facts, where do you live? I live in NJ, 10% of the population is illegal South American immigrants. Sounds like the borders are open to me bro.

Republican? Where did you get that info. Wikileaks huh? My sisters a lawyers for them. Or I should say there sister sites. I know all about the Jan. 28, 2005, discussions of the obstacles surrounding the merger. That's all it was right? Anyway,
there are no plans to create a North American Union and no agreement to do so has been signed. This information of a North American Union has been the subject of a million conspiracy theories.
Sorry if I worded my comment in a negative lite. I place these conspiracy type crap up there with the snake oil salesman trying to sell milk thistle for liver diseases.

I've read classified documents reflecting what Bush signed. There were over 1,000 delegates in Banff, Canada who met to iron out the details.

But even if that is not true and you are right, Gilead's strategy is simple. They are keeping their price high for years to come for harvoni and Sovaldi. By striking deals with Indian manufacturers they killed two birds with one stone: get some revenue from India, where the patent was denied, and be able to focus their influence over FDA to block the drugs from being imported from India. Since the majority of generics will come from India. Under TPP, unapproved generic versions of drugs under patent protection cannot be imported. Generic drugs still under patent will not be able to be imported even by personally carrying them, which is legal now.

I sure agree with you about Gilead.
