Has anybody here imported from Greg J. to USA? 8 years 6 months ago #819

Are people having trouble just getting prescribed? My doctor seemed very ready to prescribe the medication, I expect resistance from the insurance company. Most insurances are requiring F3 prognosis and I am only F1. I will know more when I go to my next appointment next week.

Kyky, my Dr prescribed the trade names sovaldi and daklinza but the insurance company won't let me have it unless im F3 or worse. So my understanding is that to import generic drugs, you need the prescription to actually specify generic drugs and/or the Dr. has to be willing to write you a prescription knowing that you are not going to go get it from the usual sources. Here, the Dr. has to submit the daklinza/sovaldi prescription to the insurance company for "pre-authorization" which they of course reject. I don't believe she would hand me a physical paper script to walk out the door with to use wherever I want in the world. I will know this week though for sure, because I will ask her just that when I see her. I very much doubt she will though

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand the situation better now. I expect to have the same results as my doctor seems to be very strict. Good luck with everything.

2b, Just wanted to let you know that I ordered Ribavirin from India and had it delivered to Miami and from there it was shipped to me here in Panama. The package was not even opened. So hopefully that will help. Now my other order from Mesochem is sitting in Panama City with the Health Dept. Just waiting to hear from them. I had that sent direct from China. Won't do that again. Best of luck!

Hi 2b,

A few travel observations .....

* The US is killing on the exchange rate right now. Good time to travel with lower costs.

www.xe.com/

* The low oil prices have airfares down as well. I've been using google/flights to research before buying. Play with it a bit to figure out how to find the cheapest flights.

www.google.com/flights/

(There's also Skyscanner, but I've never used it)

* SE Asia has the world's best bunch of discount airlines. However they're not necessarily hooked up to do transfers from others ... meaning a flight search NY-Hobart won't turn them up. So, you might want to try finding the best flight to Hong Kong or Singapore and then search a separate flight from there to your destination in Oz. Be aware that some of the discounters charge extra for things you are accustomed to being included free ... i.e. checked bag, meals, seat selection. And Tiger Air's seats in economy only give you 29 inches leg room.

But if you can get the script, I don't think Greg Jeffery's shipments have ever failed to arrive ... eventually. Last I heard, the most extreme case he was aware of was someone in the US shipping directly from India to the US who had customs stop the package. That person was required to provide various documentation and eventually got the meds after three weeks delay.
