Determining Originality of Medication 6 years 5 months ago #25817
Hi, I'm new to this forum and need some advice. I'm from Malaysia, have Hep C (Gen 1a) and latest Viral Load count (5th Feb 2018) is 4.8 million I have ordered MyHep LVIR (Sof +Ledi) which is a Mylan product via a supplier online and expect to receive the medication within the next 3-4 days. Is there anyone who have used this generic before from Mylan and if yes, how do i determine the medication i have ordered is "original" and not a fake? Is there any signs i should look out for in the box, tablets, etc ? Appreciate any advise. Thanks in advance. Regards Yugen

Welcome to the forum Yugen88, and best of luck on your treatment journey. I'm sorry but I don't know if there is an easy way to find out if the Mylan medication you're receiving is authentic or not. The only suggestion I have is to send 1 pill to FixHepC and they will test it for you. I know that they provide this service for a fee. I'm sure that if other forum members can help you, they will reply too. The following user(s) said Thank You: hanknassi

Hello Yugen88, The only way to know with 100% certainty is to subject at least 1 tablet, selected at random to qNMR or HPLC-MS. These are both high cost laboratory instruments. We do this on request. We have a section on supply chain integrity which is really important with getting things online. fixhepc.com/supply-chain-integrity.html Mylan make good medication. The trick is making sure Mylan made it. If you want to post some photos I'll compare them to a sample box we have in the safe. YMMV
