Hi 2b - thanks for the great visual. My internal fight is starting to sound like a Quentin Tarantino movie (or Francis Ford Coppola). A white Christmas sounds pretty good to those of us sweltering in the high 30's low 40's Celsius but 30F below could be testing. Somewhere in the middle would be perfect. While you're by the log fire we'll be at the beach or in the pool. Thanks for your good wishes and Merry Christmas to you and yours. G1a probably early 1980's, Biopsy F1(2010), F2-F3(2015). Well there's one in every group.......... Recently Dr James contacted me with the results of my 9 week blood test. The good news is that my liver functions are normal (big hooray!) and my VL is <15 (also big cheer) but the not so good news is that I am still Detected. It seems I am a member of that very small percentage that has not responded as quickly to the DAAs. (Special? Moi?) It is also possible that my liver may have been worse than the FibroScan suggested (F2-F3) and/or that my liver deteriorated at a rapid rate after having it. Whatever the reason... it is what it is. After talking this through with Dr James, instead of finishing my treatment (Sof/Led) at 12 weeks on 4/2 I am going to continue with Sof/Daclatasvir. He suggested this as Dac is substantially cheaper than Led and even if I were to be UND at 12 weeks I don't think I would have peace of mind that the critters were gone for good. So we'll hit the last ones standing with something different. I'm not sure if I'll need the whole additional 12 weeks and if not the leftovers can go back into the pot for someone else. I'll be in a good position to compare any side effects between the two. I have had such minimal sx on Sof/Led that it will be interesting to see if this is any different. I will get there - it's just taking a little longer. As always I'm grateful to the Doc for the time he takes to talk these issues through and the Buyers Club for my next lot of meds. Hi again Coral, I doubt you will notice much of anything from the sof and dac, My last pill of them is tomorrow. really, they don't do nuthin cept kill those nasty little virons... im sorry to hear that the other meds didnt get em, but sounds like they are on the run worst side effect i had was some insomnia..im so used to taking them now, im curious what's going to happen now when I stop after tomorrow...been a long trip from when I ate my first two in sydney to back here...seems surreal now being in australia and all, i miss it...someday i want to go back and see some more. get well, kill em off, the daclatasvir may well be the better way to go anyway. best wishes to you, keep us in the loop, we're pulling for you. GT 2b; since 80's, no prior tx, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir compounded from API's at Kingswood Pharmacy in Sydney, started tx nov 6,2015, undetected at 4 wks, UND at 8 weeks, UND at 1 week after EOT, UND at 4 weeks after EOT and UND at 8 weeks after EOT. Thanks 2b and it's all good. I'll just get on with it until they're dead as dead. Congratulations on taking that last pill tomorrow!! I know what you mean....taking the tablets do become part of the daily routine. Best you celebrate in some way and enjoy that healthy liver feeling. Hi Ariel, Thanks so much for the good wishes. I was meant to be taking my last Sof/Led tomorrow but will move onto my Sof/Dac on Friday instead. The ceremonial taking of the last tablets will have to wait just a little while longer. I'll take those splashes of sunshine thanks! G1a probably early 1980's, Biopsy F1(2010), F2-F3(2015). Thanks LG. Yes I seem to have cultivated some tough critters. Hopefully the change of meds will shock them into submission! Have a great weekend. Yes, wishing you good luck too Coral. At least your LFT's are good and the extra course of Tx will hopefully be the answer for you to get the UND and stay that way I am on 16 weeks of Sof/Dac, but G3a, no bloods yet even though I'm in week 4. GP wouldn't do them so going elsewhere, I won't know if I'm responding until about week 6. Thanks CJ. All going well so far with the change to Sof/Dac. I think I have been very lucky with my lack of side effects but not so lucky with a quick response so I guess it all evens out somewhere. Good luck with that first blood test. Shame on that GP. Coral G1a probably early 1980's, Biopsy F1(2010), F2-F3(2015). VL 5+mill; 2+mill (2014) Tx naive.
