Hi 2b! You travelled a long way for your generics so I'm really pleased everything is going well so far. I was actually doing the opposite journey (although a pre-planned holiday not a meds gathering trip ofcourse) to New York, Knowing my tablets were going to arrive while I was away caused a bit of angst and I had too many people organised to check my mailbox. I seem to be escaping the side effects so far. 4am awakenings have not been unusual for me in the past so I'll need another week or so to see if there is a pattern. I think I am a bit clearer headed but am conscious of the placebo effect. When you have had this thing so long it is hard to know what normal is... Keep feeling well. Hi Coral, good to hear from you, so you were travelling to NY? New York City I presume, because really hardly anyone in the rest of the world travels to the "upstate" hinterlands where I am. Not sure from your post, you already made the trip? hope you travel goes, or will go well, along with your medical 'journey;. Hey em, it is interesting when you think about it - having to deal with energy you haven't had in so long. I've had the virus more than half my life (contracted @ 21yo) and my mum has often remarked that sometimes she has more energy than I do - and she's 92 lol Really looking forward to experiencing what "normal" energy levels are like. Hi Cindi, I saw that J was a little off today so I'm really pleased that he's feeling better. I live in a very hot part of Australia and even we're feeling the heat wave on top of the heat wave. It's easy to get a bit dehydrated. Thanks for the check in. Feeling a bit headachy and tired today compared to the last 5 days but seriously nothing to complain about. No-one worries like a mother. A friend sent me an article from The Age about coffee reducing the the impact of liver diseases. Monash university researchers report that "two cups a day have been found to reduce the damage caused by Hepatitis C by up to 13 per cent" Now if they can find the same results for chocolate..... www.theage.com.au/victoria/coffee-can-re...20151116-gl0ma0.html G1a probably early 1980's, Biopsy F1(2010), F2-F3(2015). Hi Coral, maybe it's the heat that's causing your sides? It's so hot here in Sydney & tomorrow it's going to be 40 Are you used to the heat? Definitely consider heat a possible factor...not only debiiltating in itself but easier to become dehydrated. And yes not looking forward to Sydney tomorrow! been pretty sudden hasnt it, which doesn't help heh. I am so happy to see so many Undetecteds and "On their Ways". I have my 4 week blood results and as much as I would like to join the Undetecteds I am in the Almost Undetected group. I still have a VL of 58 (down from 2.5 million) and after an earlier post by Dr James it's hard not to picture them as 58 tough little last defence soldiers in flak jackets and helmets. But they won't win. I would be lying if I didn't confess to a nanosecond of slight disappointment but quickly overtaken by the fact that the medication and my body has worked really hard to kill the lions share and I have normal liver function results for the first time in decades. Anyway yesterday these results were enough to convince a resistant friend to start the process in the new year so they are indeed good results. 2b mentioned about having a spring in his step and I know what he means... Great news, Coral! You are right, there is a war happening within us during treatment, and such a massive drop in VL can only be a very promising sign. As the doc has pointed out, even if in the rare instance you are not undetected status by EOT its only a lag before killing off those last stubborn bastards lol GT1a since 1988, diagnosed 1990 F0, tx naive VL 262,000 ALT 40 AST 26 GGT 13 Fibroscan 04/12/15 - 2.9 Started Mesochem sof/dac 12 weeks 01/01/2016 11/02/2016 - 6 weeks UNDETECTED AST 26 ALT 26 | |

Hi Coral, I'll bet by now those last holdouts have been wiped out, they were probably making their last stand in a remote, mountainous corner of your insides somewhere, barricaded behind a wall of goop, but the good soldiers from the DAA regiment took the fight to them and rooted the last little bastards out. The 'spring in the step' phenomenon I mentioned seemed real, I mean I just spontaneously mentioned it to wife when I came home, then a few days later I was just reading that other people used the same words to describe a similar feeling, but I had not read the phrase being used by others on here before I mentioned it to her. I do however envy the HEAT you are complaining about right now, its just getting colder and colder, but we do like a white Christmas up here-but not looking forward to another year like last where we had about 15 days of 30 below zero Farenheit. Have a nice Christmas.
