Hi, I saw your note offering help to fix hep c. I think I may have caught it in 1975, dont really know, have only been diagnosed a year ago with type 3.
To sign up for Dr Freeman's redemption trial requires payment up front. I would love to be rid of it but I'm not sure whether to sign up and the costs.
Thanking you
Geoff

Hello Geoff and welcome

If you head up to the top of the page you will see the getting treated tab which will let you know the cost etc when you click on this tab there is also a header that details genotype specific treatment. Depending on the state of your liver +/- cirrhosis will determine the length of time you will need to take medication. I started this process last year in November of which I am coming up to SVR 24 - best thing I ever did and haven't looked back since.

Best wishes
T

Hi Geof, the reason why I'm here is because the medication cost far too much in UK, £38k for a treatment which is only given to patients with cirrhosis on NHS, I'm young, fair enough I've done shit choices in my life but I don't think it's right that big pharmas charge the ludicrous eye watering price for life saving/ changing meds. I've just received my medication from the website if you feel like you need me to tell you about my journey so far I'm happy to do so. I haven't started taking my meds yet as tomorrow I'm seeing my specialist

Hey Geoff! Welcome
Glad you found this place. Ive been on treatment with Sof/Led (generic Harvoni) for almost 7wks of 12wk prescription. It was truly easy through the Fixhepc Redemtion trials. Cost up front was $1600.00 USD as opposed to $94,000.00 I could never get here in U.S.A.
Generics work the same as branded meds and are saving lives as we speak. Hope you can get started ASAP. Any questions, just ask. Even Dr. Freeman can be reached here, if youre more comfortable with expert advice. :)

The other problem with the NHS in the UK,. is they won't offer Sofo/Dac for example to GFT 1s. Also, many patients are not getting the correct or recommended length of treatment

Hey FHCN - What is even worse , or even criminal, is the NHS or the Gvt or the Department of health etc don't seem to want to negotiate a lower price to treat all. There needs to be the will do do this, and I just don't see it. Too many mangers and elites with financial interests in private companies. The UK corrupt? Yes.

I shouldn't say UK actually, Scotland are way ahead with treating patients and the care they offer is much more patient centered. They show absolute dedication to trying to eliminate HepatitsC from Scotland. Good for them.

Maybe we need anonymous to teach big pharmas a lesson :P I really can not believe they wouldn't make a profit of they priced it reasonably, at the end of the day it's all about share prices and greed ...

Dear London Girl, thanks for your offer to help.It gives me hope. I feel very emotional but am unable to really open up. If I've had hep c for decades, how would that affect me, i have lived with a lot of stress for years and my memory is very bad. I've put it down to other things but now wonder if Hep C has something to do with it.

Dear Geoff,

I understand, I was just like that before I had treatment, which wasn't that long ago.

Little steps.

You know where I am.
