    Hi Dr Freeman,

I consulted with you before I began my treatment of sofosbuvir and daclatasvir for genotype 2, that I received from Greg. Anyhow, I did blood work after 10 weeks on these meds and I am happy to say I have cleared the virus. Of concern is my alkaline phosphatase went from 63 to 92. Should that be of concern?

    Hello Poodlelover,

While your Alk Phos is a bit higher it is still well below the 120 upper limit of normal, so it’s a normal value that raises no concern.

Liver enzyme values can and do wander up and down.

ALP is known to follow a diurnal variation pattern and oscillates 20% during the course of a single day.

    YMMV
