Maybe someone can explain to me why the information being collected asks for a VL check at end of treatment. It seems to me that the most important VL check is not the one at EOT. I have been led to believe that 99% of people will be clear at EOT.
This will not prove Daclatasvir or Ledipasvir ….. as the Sofosbuvir will hold the virus at bay on its own. Surely SVR12 is key to proving these meds. Maybe I’ve got something wrong but my thirst for knowledge needs quenching.
TIA

16 February 2016 at 10:34 am #11991Dr Freeman advised me that if I was undetected at 4 weeks (while on treatment), which I was, then you would be undetected at EOT so having another test was not necessary at EOT. I will be having my SVR4 in a couple of weeks. I’m not sure if the Redemption Trial has other requirements though so best to have an expert answer that question.
YMMV
16 February 2016 at 12:45 pm #11996Glad to see you are nearly there!
I have achieved SVR6 and feeling great, good LFT etc.I heard the same but they are getting EOT results not SVR and I can’t work it out. I’m sure there will be a good reason. James and the crew didn’t come down in the last shower.

16 February 2016 at 4:44 pm #12004Hi Johnboy,
You are correct that the EOT result is academic, but then again academics are the people who will be looking at the results.
With the late breaker we are putting in a late breaker at EASL. It reports baseline stuff, then EOT, SVR4 and SVR12
With Sof+Dac is it 100% < LLOQ at EOT With Sof+Led it is "only" 96.3% at the moment because we have some missing results. If we can get the missing results then it will be 100% for both at EOT which says "hey, guess what, generics work a helluva lot better than PEG/Riba" So getting the EOT values is important to EASL, and generics, but, as you say, largely academic. Everyone comes up UND at EOT.
YMMV
16 February 2016 at 6:39 pm #12009Thank you. I hope you get plenty of SVRs too.

16 February 2016 at 7:23 pm #12015We are expecting to be able to report at least 60 at or past SVR4, ten at or past SVR12, a couple at SVR24 and well over a hundred at EOT.
I am expecting 21 new SVR4 results in the next 3 days. I’ve already seen most of the the LFTs and, fingers crossed, knocking on wood, paying due homage to black cats, and not walking under any ladders, there is only one relapse in there.
Speaking of which I’ve just checked the inbox:
And that would be SVR4.
YMMV
