Did I read part of that presentation correctly, i.e, that they were looking at the possibility of some of the virons (?terminology) developing a resistance to the new DAA’s and therefore if these things developed a resistance, that the doctors would need to be careful which DAA’s to re-treat with in order to overcome the newly developed resistance? (that’s was one of my layman’s fears that some holdouts would develop a resistance, hole up somewhere, and then burst out again with reinforcements)
Which brings me to one other dumb question: As I understand it the DAA’s stop the viruses from replicating/reproducing, but I didn’t think the DAA’s KILLED off the ones already there, If that’s correct, then what happens to the one’s already there? Do they just die of old age and get flushed out, or do they eventually succumb to the body’s own defenses and therefore the population goes to zero due to loss of the ability to repopulate themselves?

we need one of those in the US, in every country where one of us has been cured—sorry to say I can’t make the leap and do it, given my job and the prevailng attitudes here, I know myself and family would suffer from disclosure—even disclosure as cured.
Its weird, I’m so enthused about getting my undetected status but I can’t really share my good news with anyone except you guys and the wife, just part of the unfair stigma of this thing I guess we have all had to deal with and are still dealing with.

I did not make it to Tasmania unfortunately, I wanted to see part of barrier reef and beaches so went north, I would like to go back though and see Tasmania and other places…its a really big place.

im not kevin but our stories are similar, we got our meds from same pharmacy and we both came back carrying, same deal, i didnt say anything, they didn’t ask anything..i did declare the boomerang and t shirts though…Oh, and yes, i popped my first meds the first day I got em, I figured that way if i had a conversation I could say, “hey mate***, wth, im already on treatment with this medication and you’re gonna take it away?”
***I use the term “mate” with no actual claim of genuine Australian righteousness to use it, its just fun as hell!

hi Chejai, the sciatica and some other things, joint pain etc you describe sound like what my wife was going thru, degenerative disc and all that they said, couldnt get a diagnosis of anything definite for a long time.
She doesn’t have HCV but after a lot of vague dr visits, and then another dr who seemed to know more and then a lot of blood testing she was definitively diagnosed with Lupus, and it appears more and more that’s the correct diagnosis for her
Hope you don’t have that, but some of what you describe sounds awfully similar. Wish they would make a pill for that too.

I got the online visa when I went, really no big deal, not much more than ordering some stuff off of Amazon…copy your passport number into a form and a few other things.
