    What simple guideline do you recommended for people who have cirrhosis and have never had an HCC?

    Thanks Em and Lynne. I am doing 24 weeks sof/dac and have completed 15 weeks. Am also getting a few more hours sleep. All the best with your results.

    Thanks again Dr Freeman for all this info. By the way, are you able to write PBS prescriptions or does it need to be done by my specialist? Also, I’ve been trying to make an appointment online with you but can’t do so. Are you not available via GP2U at the moment?

    Thanks Dr Freeman. It appears my specialist has made a huge decision based on a tiny study. That’s very unnerving.
    Thankfully, because of all your work and care and fixhepc, I have the opportunity to decide my treatment path.
    I’ll buy more meds and continue to 24 wks.
    As I am cirrhotic, I hope my specialist will agree to continue monitoring me at the liver clinic even though I’ve gone against his advice.

    Thank you 2b and Sirchinenge. Hopefully I can speak to Dr Freeman (my original doc) soon to clarify this. As I was expecting to get the next 12 wks on Aust PBS (Sovaldi) and buy Dac from Kingswood, I hope this is not the reason for changing treatment duration. Makes you wonder – triage?

    I usually have dot points to discuss but didn’t this time cause was just expecting to collect script for next 12 wks and pick up copy of 8wk bloods. Hope to talk to Dr Freeman soon. Thanks

    I totally agree with you. I need to be convinced. He caught me off guard yesterday, I didn’t ask the appropriate questions and he’s always in a hurry. I have 11 days sof/dac left and yesterday I was expecting to get a PBS prescription for the next 12 wks of Sovaldi and buy 12 wks of Dac from Kingswood Chemist. I have the prescription for Dac. In Australia, Genotype 2 can only get Sovaldi and Ribavirin on PBS (not sof/dac). Am going to try and make an appointment with Dr Freeman asap. I’m sure he’ll know what to do. Again thank you so much for your help.

    Thank you Gaj. I am delighted and grateful to be UND at 8 wks, however, am very very worried about stopping at 12 weeks as for the last 6 months, it has been the norm to do 24 wks for people with cirrhosis. What do you think?
