Hi All, Sorry Nadia if I may be hijacking your thread re Sof/Dac outcomes. I am 58 infected about 38-40 yrs ago and Geno 3a. I started on Sof/Dac on 8th Sept. Had my 4 weeks bloods done and it came back as Viral load below 15 but still detected. I will have another blood done at week 6. I also have the complication of a bone marrow disorder detected 15 yrs ago called Primary Thrombocytosis or abnormally high platelets presently untreated. Was on a nasty drug for 10yrs with that but had to stop as maybe it made my liver react but got very liverish sick. The only other treatment was Peg Interferon. NO THANKS!! Great to see that my platelets dropped by 200 pts which is phenominal, and all other bloods in the normal range. YEAH!
So waiting now on my 6 week bloods now and not sure how we will progress if still detected then.
Another thing is my hepatologist from the liver clinic who was shocked and dismayed when I originally talked to her about the generics, (I went with James then), called me yesterday and is very interested and happy with my progress and wanted to know costs etc for her other clients (I knew she was a good soul) and I pointed her to this website. So great to be on here.

Hi Miko, I think all registered Health Professionals moved to National Registration and Standards at least 3-4 yrs ago. So not state but federal registration and ‘guidlines’

Just an update, over the last 2 days I have been feeling FANTASTIC!! The best energy in a long time (worked landscaping my large yard all yesterday, havnt been able to do that for a long time) . I changed taking my meds from last thing at night to breakfast time. Was waking very, very groggy prior to that. Again I have no idea if this is just coincidence in terms of timing etc, just putting it out there. I cant believe how good I feel. YES!! Good luck every body. I will be getting the end of my 4 weeks bloods done tomorrow and so will find out soon what they say.

Hi Bloot. My bloods have been completely normal with only slight raises in ALT/AST over the 38 years I have had this virus. In the last 2 years they have been creeping up but not to the levels that you have ever had, but most importantly my overall health has been declining

I have been a healthy yoga type all of my adult life if you overlook the 1-2 years of destructive behaviour in my late teens when I contracted this virus. I really didnt take any alcohol during this time, or very little, but in the last few years I have drunken more regularly so that may be why there has been a change.

The only thing I really noticed over the years and so did those closest to me was that every few weeks etc I would get very bad fatigue for no apparent reason (deep bone like fatigue) that would last for 1 or 2 days, then go. More recently it has been my foggy brain getting so much worse and digestive problems which both immediately improved when I started the sof/dac 4 weeks ago. I really didnt know if that was what was causing those symptoms but both clearded within 1 week of starting, and I was feeling fabulous.

I am like you Bloot in that it has been part of my personality my whole adult life ( I am 5so I dont know what I will be like when it is gone!
My son noticed that a sharp tone in my voice has disappeared completely since on the drugs!! What do you know!

Now the very strange thing Iis today they do not smell in fact nothing is smelling bad to me. Also my energy has improved greatly though not better yet. From before I started the drugs up until yesterday my sense of smell had become so acute that anything chemical etc was abhorrent to me. I just opened my bottles of drugs and cannot smell anything! I was so weak yesterday as an accumulation over 4 days or more and all I did was rest eat clean food paint some iodine on my abdomen and take 2 doses of iron as my last blood test some time ago showed low iron so I thought this may be contributing to my severe fatigue. I cannot tell if these symptoms were from the drugs but I truly have never felt so fatigued with deep joint pain and hypersensitive to smells. I look forward to hearing from anyone else who is experiencing side effects .

I am too. Yesterday i rested the whole day had severe joint pains and severe fatigue. Just ate some vegan raw foods and drank about 2-3 litres of water. I also wiped Iodine all over my abdomen! Woke this morning feeling so much better. Not clear yet but not as bad as last 3-4 days.

Hi everyone,
I have been on Chinese Dacltasvir and Sofosbuvir for the last 10 days. I am Geno 3A, and was infected since late 70s. So far no side effects at
all. My own Dr wrote the prescription and ordered my first Viral load testing. I always get copies myself, and the results say that my dr cant order those tests. Do you have any suggestions for me please? I live in the country in NSW.
