I wonder if the virus caused your premature birth?
My son also had to have the occupational therapy , bad coordination.He’s ok now.
They are lovely at 10 years of age.

By the way, J feels good again now, ( after a few hours) I do think it had something to do with the extreme heat here in Sydney & he wasn’t drinking enough water.
Learned from that now.Thanks, I was worried too, but yes the drugs are the right ones.

I texted Dr James & he got back to me pretty quickly explaining things, all ok.
They are the same drugs just in different form.
Still find it hard to believe how quick Dr James replies, he is an amazing Doctor!! Never known a doctor who responds like that.
He’s a real caring one.

It all sounds similar doesn’t it!! I as well lost some pregnancies before I had J. He had some language proplems , didn’t talk till 4 years old & had to see a speech therapist for many years.
No my son wasn’t tested for he hep virus till he was about 3.
If yours was tested, he must be ok.
How old is he now?
My J was 3 weeks premi, they waited till then before getting him out. I had Cholestasis of pregnancy because of the hep and it was horrible.
I was so worried he’d be still born, and the rashes was unbearable, but nothing helped,I was too scared to have any meds in fear it may harm him, just had to wait till he was advanced enough for them to get him out. They monitored him constantly till the 37th week.Did you get the Cholestasis? The HCV can cause this in the 3rd semester.
I read your story post & was so horrified at the treatment you got from your old specialist.

Just read your story & am disgusted at the treatment you got from that specialist, what a creep, how dare he treat you like that.
You’ll find Dr James the complete opposite, he’s very compassionate & kind
.
I don’t know why people like your past specialist choose to work in this field if they have those opinions.They should be wanting to help people instead of putting them down.
Anyway, glad you’re on the right road now, you’ll find the generics very easy to get through.

Oh YES Poodle EXACTLY what I thought.
How dare that party pooper say that about the generics, when they never even admitted that the old drugs had after affects.
I know the ifn + Ribas did terrible things to me.
I found out last year after having a brain MRI scan, that my bad fuzzy memory is probably because they could see evidence of 6 small strokes I’ve had, & these were probably from the Ifn, after all I had to endure that poison 4 times. Without any specialist saying, “oh wait, by the way we aren’t sure if they have any long term affects”
And then our specialist had the nerve to try to push those dreadful old drugs on my son!!How dare they NOW be concerned that they aren’t sure what the generics do. I’m sure they are MUCH kinder on our bodies compared to that other stuff. The side affects of the Ifn was horrifying.
These generics are gentle, Ifn isn’t & neither is the virus.

Thanks & the answer is NO he says he feels nothing!! except a bit more alert
He seems a bit less “moody” to me, smiling more.
His VL ( viral load) was 2 million, so not much different from yours, really.
Mine got up to 19 million at one time, it can fluctuate a lot I think.
When do you start tx?

I so hope the results for your son are negative.My J had to go to work experience for school this week.
He is working with an agency that rescues animals.
He keeps texting me what’s happening, he’s had to rescue a Cockatoo & a ring tail possum so far this morning & he sounds full of energy.These drugs are amazing!
He has his first bloods done tomorrow, so exciting!
So Coral, try not to stress, even if your boy proves positive, these new generics are nothing like the old drugs.
He will be ok

Yes, strange things happening over there on that forum, she’s acting a little crazy.
J’s good again today & tomorrow he has to go do “work experience”, so thank goodness these wonder drugs have no bad side affects on him
