24 wks SVR yeeaa!!That’s very interesting!
It sure makes you think twice about drinking alcohol doesn’t it!Also it says that tobacco smoking contains more than 100 potential carcinogenics that may affect liver..yuck hmy:
I used to do both but gave up about 20 years ago, thank goodness, & don’t think I’d start again. I think anyone reading that article may think to do the same!!
It seems to be proven that alcohol intake is associated with HCC development in patients who SVR, so probably we should all try to not drink, or only a tiny bit?
I think it’s just common sense that after having such a toxic virus in our bodies for so long, living a healthy lifestyle is the best thing to do.
You can still have fun without alcohol.
Something positive though I saw there in that article was that people with cirrhotic livers, post tx, 60% had cirrhosis regression, so how goods that, a great incentive to live the healthy life

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!Hi Serb,
I think I understand, as I also found that having hep c encouraged
me to live a healthy lifestyle. But I’ve found, since getting hep free, I can still do this.
Try helping others with the virus, or even just those in need, this helps you to remember to look after yourself as well.
I used to party quite a lot before I knew I had the virus, drinking quite a bit, not really looking after myself, but when I was told I had the virus, my lifestyle changed dramatically, almost as if the hep did me good
Because I was suddenly living very healthy. No drinking, good food, lots of exercise. But you can still do this when free of the dragon, and getting involved in helping others to live a more healthy lifestyle and to get cured, would help you look after yourself as well.
Just saying, well it works for me anyway.
I also enjoy it.Love Cindi x

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!Hi Hope.
Oh wow, I wouldn’t be going back to that specialist, what a creep.
Can you copy what Gaj wrote & email it to her? or just never go back, preferably. She sounds either very ignorant or very just bitchy. I wish you could get a different doc, why not get onto the GP4U sight & see Dr James or his associates via Skype, they’ll look after you.
You don’t need a cruel specialist. Who needs that on top of everything? As the others said, you could just be slightly over the negative number, who knows without a quantitive load measurement, but G 3 is difficult to destroy as quick as the other G types so don’t despair, you’ll get there, even if you may need to prolong tx a little?
Try to cut down on sugar intake & iron intake.
Try to eat a low GI diet, it WILL help.Good luck & DONT give up
Love Cindi x ( Oh, you are G3 aren’t you?? maybe I got it wrong?)

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!That’s great,
I remember many years ago when I first started out trying to get rid of my virus, my very first liver specialist told me that GT3’s are the ones that have to be extra careful with Insulin Resistance. So I bet this will make a big difference for you, as sugar is what hep likes
You’re on the right track now

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!Thanks so much Dr J ,
That makes sense, around 3 to 4 wks feeling knocked about if cirrhotic,
We are keeping a close eye on him & my hubby organised a carer for him to keep his little place clean & make sure he’s ok when we can’t be there, so all fingers crossed.

24 wks SVR yeeaa!!Thank you Dr. J, but I was wondering if you think it’s OK to not have the Ribas with the Sof/Dac meds for my War Vet friend, G.T. 3a 2nd liver transplant. Had failed Ifn/Riba tx in past.
He’s on the PBS orals, under the care of his specialist, but I don’t think they are really “caring” enough.
He has been on it for 2 weeks now ( Sof/Dac no Ribas)& he is SO tired and kind of “out of it” most of the time.
He going to be on it 24 wks. He’s not meant to have another blood test ’till week 4.
Does anyone think he should be getting checked more often?Surely they’d want to check his rejection drugs are working ok with the tx??!!
I do feel sorry for him, why is everything such a hassle, why wouldn’t they just check him more often, why do we have to hassle them.
Surely they should just monitor him more closely?WHY aren’t more doctors like DR. Freeman??
Can anyone tell me if it’s normal to feel VERY TIRED from the drugs?
x
