Hi Cindi,
I saw that J was a little off today so I’m really pleased that he’s feeling better. I live in a very hot part of Australia and even we’re feeling the heat wave on top of the heat wave. It’s easy to get a bit dehydrated.
Thanks for the check in. Feeling a bit headachy and tired today compared to the last 5 days but seriously nothing to complain about.
No-one worries like a mother. How are you doing?

Hi Chejai,
I am just catching up with the forum messages. Joy has provided the contact for GP2U. It was the first time I had tried a consultation by skype but it works really well. After the consultation Dr James forwarded the referral for a blood test and a script for the generics on the site which I printed and organised the same day. Very smooth.
Please ask away if you have any questions. Someone in this forum will know the answer!
Cheers

Hi Joan et al,
So pleased everyone is coping despite a few side effects. I am now Day 6 and doing well although it’s probably my tiredest day partly due to a 4.30 awakening. I am waiting to see if it becomes a bit of a pattern. Like you Joan I’m also trying to be good to my body and my poor old liver with good clean food and no alcohol etc. I’ve found it easier if I remove myself from socialising too much at the moment. Hopefully I shall re-emerge HepC free at some stage down the track!

Hi Chejai,
Welcome! I have had the virus (G1a, F2-3) for about the same length of time as you and started my Sofusbuvir + Ledipasvir treatment 6 days ago. All is going well so far with no detectable side effects. So sorry you had such a bad experience with the specialist but well done with perservering to find the ones who can work with you not against you. I have also had a lot of trouble finding medical support in the past. Following the recent publicity I made an appointment with the wonderful Dr James Freeman at GP2U, ordered the generics through the Buyers Club and 4 weeks later I started my treatment. I know I am in safe hands. There is a way forward for your brother as well.. Good luck to you both. Let us know how you are travelling.

Hi Cindi,
I am so pleased with how things are going for your son. Having survived the teenage years with two sons “less moody and smiling more” sounds like an outstanding result! Fingers crossed for the blood results.
I am still doing fine on my 6th day although I just mentioned to 2b that I have a bit of a history of 4 – 5am awakenings which I thought may be due to the Hep C virus. I’ve had a few early starts this week but not quite a pattern yet. Not complaining though.
Whatever the outcome of my son’s test I agree that the generics have made this so much easier for us all to face. Thanks for your support.

Hi 2b!
You travelled a long way for your generics so I’m really pleased everything is going well so far. I was actually doing the opposite journey (although a pre-planned holiday not a meds gathering trip ofcourse) to New York, Knowing my tablets were going to arrive while I was away caused a bit of angst and I had too many people organised to check my mailbox. I seem to be escaping the side effects so far. 4am awakenings have not been unusual for me in the past so I’ll need another week or so to see if there is a pattern. I think I am a bit clearer headed but am conscious of the placebo effect. When you have had this thing so long it is hard to know what normal is…
Keep feeling well.
CoralHi Cindi,
So pleased your son is doing well. There are a few of us travelling down the path with him at the same time so he’s in excellent company!
I am the mother of two sons although they are a little older that Young J. We are waiting for the results from my oldest son’s blood test to stop a niggling worry. He took a bit of convincing but I think the fact that I am taking the generics has made it a bit easier.
Wishing you both a good week (and well done for removing yourself from negative influences).

Hi Lynne,
I am at Day 4 and friends have been tentatively asking me how I feel and like you I actually I feel fine so far. I had been travelling before I started taking the meds so my sleeping was a bit erratic due to jetlag. I have been waking up very early and now I’m thinking it might be the meds instead of the jetlag! I agree it is a small price to pay for a long term outcome.
Take care of you – we’ll be one week down before we know it.

Hi Lynne,
I started mine 2 nights ago so it looks like we’ll be travelling this road together. We’ll aim for some collective patience!
Coral
Hi Em,
Thanks! I have been following your posts and see that you are well on your way. which is great. Only two days in for me so early days but all good so far. Now that I’ve started it’s hard to be patient….but I guess after 30 years I can wait a bit longer….Coral
Thanks Joy – I was so happy to see your great results. Looking to follow in your footsteps.
Coral
Hi Cindi,
Great news that your son is off and running and doing well…I look forward to reading about his progress…Coral
Hi Cindi,
Thanks for the good wishes. I have Sofosbuvir and Ledipasvir which I understand is recommended for my genotype. I’ve read the advice that taking them in the evening might be better so will try it this way first. Any slight trepidation is completely outweighed by the need to get rid of this thing!
