Sorry that my username turned out that way lol. dtdw is my nickname and fhpc is used as reference to the site name. I always do this because I had too many forum and pw so as to not confuse myself.

Anyway, I apologize if I had created a ‘war’ here, all because we’re getting screwed by Gilead and their stupid practices. Coupled with corrupted politicians. See, that’s where we as a community comes in, to spread awareness that ‘hey, we don’t have to pay 84k USD for a treatment !’ . See, many rejoice because we found it for 1K USD as of now. Can we then also spread the news that ‘hey, now the price is at xxx amount cheaper, how many more will rejoice?

Where else can we debate (or discuss) about pricing if not in the forum? The media or Gilead’s marketing? Politicians? No. It’s us, the buyers at forums. We were the only ones that can do it.

If you have closed out any form of discussion, then people (like me) will just go straight to purchasing it because you know, it’s so freaking cheap, without 2nd thought. My entire family was like rejoicing when they saw the price of at around 700 USD.

I sincerely thank this community for your effort in this direction of having a cautious attitude. Because of that, I went and purchased Twinvir instead. But why didn’t I end it there? Because I want to do a part in helping my own country. I know many are not as fortunate as my family.

I can go on and on, but we must have a conclusion somewhere. Here’s my proposal. Can I recommend someone trustworthy in this forum to start a funding campaign, and we all chip in some money to buy the meds that we’ve found so far, and send it to Dr James for lab test? I’m sure there will be objections in this practice, but hey, it’s really up to us as a community. I can’t say yes, and all shall follow my lead. Neither can anyone here say trust me, and everyone has to trust him. Some of us tend to treat someone here as God. When Greg says it is, then nobody questions him. I asked him about this company, he says he has never heard of them. So is his word the alpha and omega? No, I don’t think so.

What we should be trusting in, is the data. We have the technology. My suggestion will, hopefully, make that data available to the public to make informed decision using data, not someone’s ‘word’.

Ok. Here we are again, debating about something we have no real idea if this or that.

I don’t want to be the guy that try to defend someone that I don’t know. But I can tell you, if this can be gotten at this price and they are legit, then we can save even more lives. My family is at the OK range in terms of finance, but I can tell you over in Malaysia, not many people can afford 1k USD.

According to statistics, Malaysia has over 400k Hep C patients, and that isnt’ even up to date as I tried digging into the news. It’s dated at 2009. So my guess is as what you can think of, it could be in the millions today. Way more than Australia.

I have since bought one of the recommended brands here. But if what Dr James say is true, what about the quote they actually gave me?

I am too very skeptical of the pricing no doubt, and with your research it proves that the current pricing hasn’t fallen so low. Since you have also mentioned that Dr Reddy is a big brand in India, they wouldn’t be going out of their way to scam potential customers now would they?

As I have said time and again, the price is in the actual email they quoted me. It’s the generic version of Harvoni, not Sovaldi.

What I can guess from here is that, Drreddy might be under prcing their products and they are spoiling the market. Since that’s the price they quote me, they can quote anyone that price too, including local Indian, not just overseas order. Which is why in the brand thread, I have requested for help to ask them for their pricing (no one responded as of now).

In terms of calling it a fake, that’s the whole point of me starting this thread, is plausible, at 50/50. Again, some expert already mentioned, it’s a big brand. If their price is good, and if we could somehow get a sample to be tested by your lab, then we can finally agree if this is indeed a scam or not.

A big milestone for me. I’m sure some can relate to the pain and headache I’ve been through trying to find for a cure, generic supplier, payment, and then shipment.

Alimul Razi from Incepta has been a great help and he is very reachable in all platforms, including whatsapp.

The long story, which I might create another thread for, is about the journey of searching for things online. The short story here is, I’ve managed to figure out the western union part of things (due to certain restriction in some countries that online TT is not very reliable according to our friend here), and tmr, they will be shipping out the meds.

Another hurdle to go through, which is the kastam from both sides. Will update my progress. For now, let’s be hopeful.

There are plenty of such sites that pops up in google search. I even found one selling people ebooks on “how to purchase generics online” <img style=illy:' />

I’d suggest not to list the domain so easily and change the title to something else that list all suspicious websites (without hyperlinking).

You never know, someone might just be so in a hurry and get scammed without reading the thread.

i think dtdwfhpc is humbuk and has registered a new account today to post the same thing. be cautious.

and what exactly is a humbuk? pretty sure that’s like trying to call me a scammer or someone trying to raise positive image for the company?

and thanks to you, i have received 2 negative karmas. i don’t know what has the world come to, we all have our own situation, so i’d rather not start a war here in this forum when life is at stake here.

but i am very angry and disappointed for people that did that to me, which i really want to vent out my anger, but i shall hold it.

Anyone that has sense, and the mod can see all my actions, that i have not done anything wrong apart from what seemed like a double post. but i have since then brought the convo to the correct thread and i’ll leave that to the mod’s desicion on what he shall do with this one.

Can we have a joint effort to send an email to them and ask for their price? With your own situation.

Here’s an info I left out (i don’t know if it plays a role), but because my dad mentioned he is a pastor and also not super wealthy in the first email, so I am not sure if that makes any sense, but that may have made a difference due to compassion.

I know it doesn’t make sense in some ways, but I read some articles that they have a vison to help the poor and needy to access medication at a reasonably cheap price (something like that along the line).

Dr Reddys is perfectly fine a company. So are all the Indian companies making Harvoni. India has laws they just cant produce Harvoni without a licence from either Gilead or the other firms licenced. The others firms give the licence ahead to other firms this is normal in India.

These middlemen is where the problem lies.

Now that is something I don’t think many including me knows about. I’ve done some research and it does seem like they are licensened by Hetero and Hetero is by Gilead.

But how they can drive the price so far down, remains to be the question that needs to be asked. I don’t want to write them off so early on, and although it’s very common that cheap equals to cutting corners, for this company however, they seemed ok.

I’ve only found one negative about them, is that somewhere in November the FDA issued a warning letter http://www.reuters.com/article/us-dr-reddys-fda-warning-idUSKCN0SV0FA20151106

From there I found out they were a listed company https://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:RDY

I probably should also post an update here. I created a QA and here I’ll list the price quoted from them for Resof-L

Rs 16000 plus shipping Rs 3000. Total is Rs 51000 (762 USD as of this post date).

This is the cheapest I have seen so far, so much below the market price of all the supliers currently.

If anyone can verify their integrity, or any more info about them, would be good. Because as of now, they are the cheapest out there.

Note: This price is unrealistic and unlikely to represent real product. Dr Reddy’s is a premium brand and the MRP is Rs 25000.
