Sure valid point! But with my own experience on IFN/Riba for an extended period was that even when I cleared I was that messed up from the chemicals I couldn’t say that I had a sense of wellness, I was a bitter and twisted mess. And what I’m hearing from many people who are clearing now with DAAs they are feeling better than they had in a long long time. We don’t know what we don’t know hey? While this isn’t a scientifically validated fact, I am excited by the chance of feeling this way once again. See me there in my avatar, I want to get through that barrier, here’s hoping anyway. Sorry if this seems overly emotive and not backed by research. This isn’t a fairytale to those people, we have people on this site stating this and from other local forums. Lol dt love ya work oo Em
Hi Ann and James
I work in the health system in NSW (state) and it was my belief that telehealth was being expanded and promoted heavily, particularly in more rural remote communities. Isn’t it interesting when you the look at the broader federal machinations which is essential throttling this fantastic service. In part this would be about protection of others (specialists and GP lobby) who are not taking this up as an option for patients. Why am I surprised the federal government has little understanding as to what’s occurring at a state level let alone at the grass roots. And why governments insist on spending millions on IT infrastructure is beyond me? This is plug and play stuff now with technology such as skype, video chat etc. Em
Hi DT
I wasn’t commenting on scarring or fibrosis and I understand that the correlation between LF testing is no indication of fibrosis progression. I guess I was just providing insight into several friends have now are feeling much better and LF coming back to within range. A good news story I guess. Em
Congratulations Alsdad, so happy for you, it must feel good. Em
I know a few people here in Australia have have recently treated, some with Viekira Pak (Geno 1s) nd other with sofosbuvir and ribavirin (Geno 3s) all were cirrhotic with cricket scores for liver function ALT, AST and GGT and a range of other issues associated with the cirrhosis. It is amazing that all since SVR they have within normal range liver function. All are feeling the best they have in a long time and so I guess there will be an expectation that things will only improve from this point. It would be interesting to track some of this with research, perhaps it’s already been done to some degree? Em
Hi panamajo
Yeah they can be filled with a range of stuff, however, given that my APIs are being tested I thought for an additional $70AU why not get it done at the same time. Yeah that would have been good and I’ll work out who you are don’t tell me. Thinkin australasia lol Em

I was looking at another interactions document and also saw this one but didn’t realise it was a ‘tool’ as such. Thank you. Em
17 September 2015 at 12:22 pm in reply to: Please check for medication interactions (+ website link) #1324Hi James
Could you please explain how one would manage being on setraline/zoloft when commencing treatment of sofosbruvir and daclatsavir? I’ve checked out the interactions table and still don’t understand the ramifications? I guess I’m asking for myself who has remained on this AD since my last treatment and for all hepers, as many would be in the same situation. If there is any question on interaction I’d like to wean off the AD prior to commencing, maybe? Em
Edit: I’m on 50mg daily, well most days when I remember!
Hi Ann
I would suggest booking an appointment with GP2U and the tests can be ordered through an in house specialist, all bulk billed for you. Gotta love GP2U. Em
I believe the testing only takes 24 hours and is all done in Tassie, compounding might add another day or so. I’ve just been reading up on the contraindications particularly in regard to the Daclatsavir and interactions with CYP enzyme. : http://fixhepc.com/forum/experts-corner/108-daclatasvir-warning-interactions-cyp3a4.html. Shit I’m still on AD (Sertraline) from my last tx mainly due to laziness and not wanting the hurt, along with knowing that I’d treat again soon. I’m waiting to hear back from James about this as there seems to be weighting for each drug and it’s interaction. Might need to start weaning or it may be okay? Not sure? I’m on 50mg daily. Em
Hi PKQ, in future I would negotiate with Rachel via email or phone to ensure that she forwards the documentation directly to customs prior to the next lot arriving. Also ensure that she provides you with duplicate copies so that if there’s any drama you can fire off copies to customs asap. Rachel is pretty efficient and did get back to me each time I emailed, so good communication given the volume of inquiry and orders.. I had completed my money transfer to mesochem prior to linking up with GP2U so I then had to contact Rachel and have the package redirected to GP2U for compounding and testing. So glad that the first lot is on its way to you. Em
Hi DT
I’m going to give it another try right now. It was a file size issue which has now been increased so here I go:
Hi Everyone
Well just got word that my APIs have arrived in Tassie, so off to the laboratory for testing then to the compound chemist, Em
Hi James
What about the scenario where the package is held up with a notification stating that customs requires additional paperwork? Could the hepper and or GP ring up customs and request that the package be opened to clarify? I guess existing policy and procedure would restrict custom’s ability to do this, just as easy to ensure that electronic copies are in clear view. Sorry just thinking aloud and I believe I may have answered my own question here lol. Em -
