Thats wonderful to hear LG. It’s so nice to watch all the lovely people on here getting better!
I learn so much from you all. So many wise and kind souls here.

    I think I need a plan B and a plan C.
There are two possible snafus…one, they delay the listing….the other, my specialists refuses to prescribe straight away because I’m “mild”.
Or both, in a worst case.
But on the whole I am in a very fortunate position in every respect, being here in Australia.
So I shouldn’t stress about it.
It’s annoying though to put yourself back “in their hands” once you had psyched yourself up to take control.

    Thanks Tina :)
It sure is a relief to know that I have options!
I’m sure the virus has messed with my health in many ways, for years now, even though I’ve managed it with herbs. After almost thirty years I have absolutely reached my limit of coping with it.
Medical professionals just look at the numbers though, and tell me there’s nothing wrong. And ignore all the symptoms I’ve been reporting for years and years.
I guess we all know that feeling!

I used to get terrible psoriasis just under the liver area (strangely)…the only thing that got rid of it was skin brushing (slightly wet). It does much more for my general skin quality that any external cream ever did. I think it helps your skin to excrete the toxins your liver can’t manage. Skin is your third kidney after all.
Periods have been occasional and scant for years, slowly petering out.
Last ultrasound said bleeding ovarian cysts but those apparently are nothing serious.
Still not in treatment. Looking forward hopefully to the PBS listing, but terrified of being warehoused.
Maybe I’ll still end up on generics.

Well it would make sense that I’m not too low. I sunbake regularly in winter (a habit that keeps my skin issues under control). It’s just in summer here, with such high levels of UV radiation….I tend to avoid the sun. Anyway I will drop the supplements as soon as I am done with treatment. I find them a little corrosive unless taken with plenty of food.
Yes I’d say Dan is talking nmol/l while I am talking ng/ml. They love to make it confusing. Took me ages to decipher my GPs handwriting to even figure out thats what he meant. I am 59 nmol/l.

Interestingly Australia has some of the highest levels of Vit D deficiency around, in spite of all the sunshine.
Possibly because we are trained to cover up at all times for fear of skin cancer.
I’m a bit curious too now about B 12 levels, which are a bit harder to check up on online.

It’s pretty astonishing to me how little interest has been shown in monitoring my Hep over the years. My GP seemed to think if the liver functions were okay thats an end to it, but reading everyones stories now I realise this was far from the truth. My experiences of symptoms are too similar for them to be a coincidence so clearly, even when its not actively destroying your liver, the Hep is still taking its toll.

I got 23 ng/ml and my GP told me that was fine, but since then google has told me it’s too low…
    https://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/testing-for-vitamin-d/
There seems to be a major disconnect between what is considered normal by my GP and by the Vitamin D council…more than double in fact, so it’s a good thing I checked online. I wonder why there is such a huge difference? Just getting my GP to do vitamin tests is like pulling teeth.
Doing the sun baking and supplementation in preparation for treatment (and in the hope that it will help my teeth)

What I was really wondering is whether Ledipasvir fits into the category CYP3A4 type med at all, or whether its totally different, and thus not having the same contraindications as Daclatasvir.

Do you mean you can eat anything and everything or just that you don’t need to eat a meal with the meds?

In fact I’m sure the hot water with citrus added every morning (two pints!) is what has kept my liver functions normal.

I use limes a lot too, in my morning hot water. When i’m not using the grapefruit off my tree.

Interesting…omegas are not good on Tx?
Thats really why I am concerned about Miso…its my probiotic (I use unpasteurised).
Maybe once my digestion comes back on line I won’t need it so much.
I’m not hugely strict diet wise, though I always prefer fresh food.
Rich food has made me feel sick for years and years now. Be funny if that changes. I might get fat! :D

This is an interesting question. We’ve established that Dac interacts with several very common food stuffs…most notably grapefruit. Is there any similar issues with Ledipasvir? I’ve looked around but so far all I can see is pharma contraindications for Led.
My intuition would say the meds would work better on an easily digestible, not too heavy and fatty diet. Just because there would be less clogging in the liver to penetrate.

I haven’t started treatment yet so I’m still trying to choose.
Daclatasvir seems to be contraindicated for a few of my favourite things.

I eat a lot of Miso…soy is very different when its fermented.
    Normal soy I avoid anyway…it’s mostly pretty toxic….but Miso…
Do I need to forgo it on Dac? And Led as well?
I might choose Led if I can still eat Miso.
