    @geno1b4

Well it has been awhile since my last post. In the meantime I felt better and better, and 17 weeks after EOT I did PCR.
Results are still negative, and hopefully now I can say that both dragons are slayed :woohoo:
LFT results has never been lower: ALT 15, AST 12, GGT 6, ALP 39

I was really worried because of my double genotype and very little info on cases like mine, but for now generics magic works great.
Want to thank everyone here for support, great doc Freeman for valuable info, mr.Parag Jain of Bullpharmachem who provided ledifos and was great friend and tour guide for me in Delhi, and of course inspiring Greg Jefferys, with whom I started this amazing escape from dragons den last May.

    Hello Simone,
One more :+1: for Mr.Parag Jain from me.
I’ve met him personally in Delhi, January this year where he provided 2×12 weeks Ledifos (gen. Harvoni) tx for me and my friend.
He is great guy, very helpful and friendly. Everything was as we agreed over the mail and WhatsApp. He showed me Delhi, and I’m invited to visit him in Mumbai whenever I want.
We are still in contact as I’m updating him regularly about my progress, and helping other hep c folks in Serbia to get in contact with him.

Just today he sent me a pic of new Ledifos package of 84 pills (12w tx) in one bottle for what he got exclusive deal with manufacturer.
With that it will be much easier to ship or carry around.

Been today to my public doc to present undetected EOT results, and due to Harvoni tx not yet approved by the officials, he didnt have the grounds to ask for PCR SVR4 test, so I will have to wait for 12 weeks to do one, but will do a “poor man’s SVR” or LFT’s next week which would be SVR6. Hopefully ALT will be normal, and if not, well the battle will continue.

I also had pains just below the liver before tx, and it was stomach related. Diagnosis was helicobacter pylori, which I eradicated with antibiotics therapy. After DAA tx I’m again getting my stomach upset with lost of gasses and sometimes pain, so if it not stop soon, I will again run some stomach tests.
As I understood liver don’t hurt, the only pain in liver can come from gallbladder issues.

    Thanks Dr.Freeman, great info.
After UND at EOT 5 weeks ago, I’ve done poor mans SVR1, and the LFT’s were all great, but will do another one at SVR5 or 6.
I will probably have to wait for PCR at 12 weeks because my public hospital Doc is doing monitoring on his own initiative. Sadly Ledipasvir is not yet approved in Serbia so officially I cant be monitored in public hospital, but Doc is a good fellow and also very interested in outcome of generic tx.
I have all the prerequisites for a SVR like F0, low VL, Fibroscan below 7, but my double genotype and possible further genotype mutations worries me.
Anyway hoping for the best and feeling great just remembering where I was last May after unsuccessful pegi/riba tx when I stumbled on the Greg’s blog.

Yep still wondering how I got them. Was it 2 cases of exposure, one exposure to both, or virus mutated which is also a possibility.
Here is a research I found about multiple genotypes:

    http://www.bccdc.ca/resource-gallery/Documents/Guidelines%20and%20Forms/Guidelines%20and%20Manuals/Hepatitis/Hep%20C/CPS_HepatitsC_ViralLoad_Rec_20150609.pdf

    Last paragraph is very interesting:
For all treatment experienced patients, whether they are considered a non-responder or they relapsed post-therapy, or, if re-infection is a consideration, the HCV genotyping should be repeated prior to retreatment.

Same here, plus still upset stomach and lots of gasses after meals. Dunno is it related to liver or it is just stomach upset from tx that need time to settle.

Still waiting for PCR EOT results, expecting them later this week.
Meanwhile since I’m not a patient fellow, and reading a thread here about possible relapse where good doc Freeman suggested LFT test as a quick check, did one few days ago, and numbers are reassuring: ALT 14, AST 17, GGT 12, ALP 77 so hopefully bug is extinct or dying.

I’m too in the same panic boat after EOT last tuesday. I have to wait for one more week to get EOT PCR results, didn’t do any since started Ledifos tx in January. I’m starting to feel some pain in right abdomen as well as itchy skin all over, just like before tx. Yesterday also got one of those awful headaches that last all day.
I’m trying to convince myself it is just my body getting back to normal, but in any case just like Dr.Freeman said will draw blood tomorrow for LFT’s.

Just popped up my last Ledifos pill today. Tomorrow will draw blood for first PCR during tx. During last 12 weeks nothing special about side effects to report. Mainly it was gassy stomach, very dry skin especially on elbows, and slight hair thinning and loss. Very few headaches, and energy levels little higher than usual.
Been reading a lot about success rates, and hoping my double genotype will not interfere in some strange way with SVR. I’m also starting with milk thistle and as low carbs as I can for the first 4 weeks if that can help getting at SVR4 mark.

So far nothing special to report. Some minor side effects, mostly skin rash issues, and some little hair thining. Mild headaches now and then was taken care only by drinking lots of water. My first PCR is due EOT.

    Hi Rene,
My choice was to do the full 12 weeks tx just to be sure. No need to save few hundred bucks and increase risk of relapse.
As for interactions the ones Chester mentions are for Sofosbuvir/Daclatasvir regarding Daclatasvir interactions.
We should not eat Grapefruit and st.Johns worth, but I also stopped using all supplements and vitamins including milk thistle just to be on the safe side.

My good doc is working in public hospital and will monitor my progress because he wants to help, and by his words I’m the first patient with Harvoni. In Serbia Ledipasvir is still not registered so officially he cannot order too much PCR’s because of its cost.
Well probably do one on week 4-6 like you suggested and then after tx.
