Great work Hazel, so many great people in this community it really warms my heart. I was talking to my girlfriend about Dr James just the other day, i was telling her how he gets people medication so they can be cured and also has a forum where he answers people questions and worries and does this at no personal gain other than the fact he has helped people have a longer life, she was quite astonished. A selfless man and community #love

    Hello James_mc85,

Yes, ALT and AST go back up to pretreatment levels when patients relapse. Yours have not, so, so far, so good.

Hi Dr James, thanks I will look into detergent etc to see if it’s something like that causing it. I was worrying it was a relapse that was causing the itch. Do ALT etc take long to shoot back up after a relapse.

Thanks for helping me feel less worried

    Hello James_mc85,

That bloodwork looks ok and the top of normal haemoglobin, haematocrit, albumin are not a worry. You may have been a little dehydrated when they were taken, and this is really the only cause of urine that is dark, then light, then dark…

It seems pretty common for patients to have liver location sensations under their right ribs after treatment. This settles down.

Your itch is unlikely to be liver related. The itch from liver problems comes from high bilirubin, and yours is not high.

The fact that antihistamines help suggest it is an allergy type itch so you need to look at washing powder, soap, shampoo… any anything else that is in contact with your skin. Often, when patients get a global skin itch it relates to changing one of these (but sometimes the manufacturers change the product).

I wanted to let everyone know how I got on. The nurse called me and said as of the 28th May I was undetected. I wanted to be happy but don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch. I really don’t feel like it’s away, this may sound silly but it’s like I can feel it.

It’s been a few weeks now since I stopped treatment and my stools are still very yellow and urine still very dark. The past week my skin has been very very itchy especially at night, so much so that I have hardly slept because of it, my whole body, eye lids, just everywhere. Legs also very weak, I haven’t been able to exercise as much as when I was on treatment.

Hello Dr James, thanks for your reply. If I drink enough water the colour does go light yellow/water like but i still usually have at least one dark pee at some point. It was the same while I was on treatment, if it was dehydration would that affect my stool colour?

My last Fiboscan score before I started treatment was 5.4, I was told this is a normal range.

I will cut out the sauna and gym for a few days and see if it makes a difference, its happening with my stools also they are yellow orange colour.

This has been happening through the treatment but I was hoping it would clear up once I stopped. Hopefully it will once the drugs fully leave my system.

I did some digging and seen on a few websites that biliburin can increase on mavyret and on the mavyret website it says it was seen in 3.5% of patients, so hopefully it’s just that, although I tend to think of the worst possible scenario first :)

Those results are the newest ones I have. They were taking about two months before treatment started. They didn’t take any bloods while I was on treatment. The bloods they just took on the 28th May as I was finishing treatment, is the most recent but I won’t hear from them until the 12th June and it will only be a phone call.

Hi Vororo, thanks for replying to me. I saw the nurse on Monday, it wasnt a pleasant experience, i asked her to print my last lft out and she asked me why did i want that, she said they need to go somewhere else to get the prints and wrote down my ALT AST and Bilburin on a paper towel (seriously) I then asked her for my viral load and she said it was 10,300 and i asked is that not quite low and she said do you want it to be higher, i thought that was quite mean. This puts me off asking them for these sorts of things, they drew blood and they said they would call me on the 12th June to let me know the results.

I mentioned to her about the dark urine and she said about the Dehydration also, i drink around 2 – 3 litres of water a day

    I’m a glass half empty guy :P

I know its premature, i’m just paranoid because of the dark urine and worrying that frequent saunas may have affected the Mavyret

    Thanks for replying to me
