Hi Tina, I have taken Melatonin before for jet-lag – It resets the body clock.
It’s also said to make you look younger !
However, I’m not sure if it should be taken when on treatment?

As far as I know, you can’t buy it in the UK ,I have always bought mine when visiting the states.
    It’s an excellent jet-lag remedy.
If it was proved to be OK on tx, it would definitely help some people I would think, but it’s probably best to check this out.

But if you have the choice and have traveled far, why not opt for the prescription ? Not all customs officers may be up on the legal aspect on return ? and if it gives that extra sense of security, why not go for a prescription if you have the choice? and see a nice Dr for not much extra when you have already invested in the price of air ticket / hotel ? Not everyone visits India 4-5 times a year? Some once in a life-time. I am sure there are genuine pharmacists, especially for locals, but they don’t have to get a plane home with their meds and go through security once home .

Just my personal thoughts, I am sure your intentions are good.

Yes, get tested and the get TREATED – There are medicines for this now, you know?

Look up that person’s name with the words ‘grant received by Gilead for’ or ‘Sponsored by Gilead to write a paper on ‘ …… ”

    or ‘Conflicts of interest’

    That often explains it.

Hmm Some good points made though, Greg J saw a Dr in India, it’s so affordable for most, why not? Also maybe helps if you are questioned at customs?

Personally speaking, if I had traveled to India to get my meds (which I did consider at one point) I think I would have rather enjoyed seeing a nice private Indian Dr – after the hot-potch variety bag I’ve had to encounter in the UK .

Luckily I have 2 fantastic ones now, but the unessasary stress caused by previous ones didn’t do snything to make me feel better, quite the opposite in fact!

Hi Hamilton, I am 1 week in and so far sx very manageable.

1st day, mild ‘hangover-like ‘ headache – drank water & it went, no more headaches since.
Speedy mornings after taking pill & amazing ‘flashes’ of feeling my old self – Day 2 #woohoo!
Tinitus a little more pronounced but not bad.
After a week – Less sleep. Go to sleep ok but waking up earlier every morning.
Lower back/pelvic/hip pain returned, but not disabling, just ‘there’.(instinct says digestive/lower bowel, not frame/muscle)
Huge appetite – Think I’m putting on much needed weight!
Aware I am emotionally sensitive to anything sad or stressful, but more cheery in general – no doubt.
Oh yeah, sudden brain -fog episodes, worse in evening

All in all, it’s very easy :-) You should feel so much better soon Hamilton .

Sirch, I read something about this, but t’s late and brain forgets as the day goes on…
Will see if I can remember what it was and get back to you when it returns.
There’s a lot of us with Tinitus, so I feel it could v possibly be related.

Well, when the immune system is compromised and white bood cells are low, we are less able to fight things off. Glad things are better for you in that department :)

    Vororo said

I am an expert in reading about “exciting times” and “great progress coming soon” and “informed decisions” and “patient consultation” and all a whole bunch of other ineffectual Good-Speak like that from the NHS

Tell me about it! Along with all those enormously expensive conferences and meetings that a large variety of teams, charities, medical people, think-tanks, etc etc and business types hold and then make some sort of statement that means absolutely nothing to us, the patients.

I was reading about another one of these type of things from a NHS think-tank type group who had spend the week discussing” how to improve patient care”…After a week of debating in some expensive Wimpole Street type place no doubt, they came up with the ground-breaking idea, that they ‘need to put the patient at the center of care’ – ha ha unreal! I am on Twitter and read this stuff, it is so hard not to write ‘you don’t say’ under such idiocy ! …or “have you considered treating them”? lol I mean without the patients, we wouldn’t need any of them! – What a waste of money too.
    Oops another #rant alert

This site is real. Warts-and-all. There is too much info here and too many people like me from around the world reporting success stories for it not to be real…
