Hi Jolie, I think, as it stands right now, this is only available if you are in Australia.as legally, the medicines can’t be re-sent out of Australia.

Please correct me if I’m wrong anyone?

But you can have them delivered direct from a manufacturer if this is permitted, so yes, if you do this, they would come in API form and need to be capsulated.

    Is this right?

Thanks Nadia, I have some ‘instinct’ that the Meds can poss. change pulse, heart-rate, BP
I think regular observations on these, maybe from GP would be handy.

Totally agree with Gary on that Life,
We all have different issues & health specs.
Special , ie professional care needs to be taken with other medicines, supplements and even, I have read, some foods.
I know StJohns Wart for example should be avoided and some talk of grapefruit & Seville oranges.

Hi guys, by ‘spin’ do you mean actual dizziness?
Wonder what causes that and if it’s anything to do with blood pressure..

Sounds like you’re both doing well, enjoy your lunch :cheer:

I believe there are many in the medical profession who believe they need to be ‘cruel to be kind’ thinking that we may ‘learn our lesson’ if they are cruel to us. It is shocking. Some maybe think we will not ‘endanger’ ourselves again if they make our experience as difficult as possible. Some think it’s our own fault and we are wasting medical resources. Seems to me, many of us are over 50, this has been my experience since diagnosis, they would prefer to have us labelled junkies out of a ‘life-style choice’ I think. It keeps public opinion on the side of no funds for treatment. They also seem to overstate the cost of treatments in the press. Well, English Health Authority do anyway. It’s handy for them to blame NICE.
Johnboy – The blood test thing is interesting ….sorry you had to experience that.
I believe HepC patients all over, are discriminated against.
My personal experience of the medical profession in England regarding this illness has been, in a word, bad.

Thank-you David. I appreciate appreciate your post.
I have read about the Harvoni and know that it seems very tolerable in most patients.

I am a little concerned as I am so tiny – It amazes me that someone my weight would have the same dosage as a large, well-built guy, you know? To give you an idea I can fit in child’s clothes age 12-13. I also have had some immune responses and have been quite ill intercepted with better phases, weight-loss & muscle wasting has been an issue and a there are a few other issues that worry me somewhat but I’m going to discuss these with the Hepatologist when I see him. Not that they will necessarily be totally forthcoming I’m sure! I feel monitoring is essential, not so much endless blood tests, but blood pressure, listening to heart etc – basic obvs, want to get this in place.

I find it ludicrous that many of the medical profession seem to say none of our symptoms are connected to the virus, yet they don’t really seem to want to investigate them either! there are clearly common symptoms in many sufferers, eg joint pain .

Yes, I know I have to rid myself of this here thing and my body is letting me know that.
I thank each and every one of you for your input and advise.

    LG

Hi Muir & Jolie -Girl :)

I can only agree, but I will say, that isn’t the UK, it’s England. Scotland are totally pro-active and have got rid of interferon for GT1s recently and been prescribing and treating with new meds for a while. Wales and Northern Ireland are apparently offering DAC, so it’s the English Gvt, the English Health Authority and NHS England who are trailing behind. Infuriating – Why? Hmm

    We shall overcome !

    Good luck to all.

Sunshine is indeed my friend, but also in UK. The sunshine here is not good enough, if we see it at all ! We can get cheap flights to warmer climates easily, I need my VitC fix frequently and always feel a huge improvement. Last bloods, my VitD result showed just enough, that was after taking suppliments over last winter.

Magnesium is a v interesting one, it seems to help many ailments associated with HepC. Although my Dr said it was ‘unlikely’ I have found it has helped me personally.

Edit: Please note I am not on treatment, would also be interested in DrF’s take on that
