Sir has some good points. I have never actively “helped” people in the U.S. source from India other than through REDEMPTION. There were just too many suppliers coming on board too fast for me to feel comfortable doing so. Now, I realize many probably have non-REDEMTPTION meds whose status is in question.
Let’s hope for a quick and satisfactory end to this mess for their sakes.

Can you believe I don’t have a face on a book, I’m not linked in with anybody, never unsta’d a gram or tweeted like a bird. I am basically a very private person who tries to lead a very private, adventurous, fun and exciting life and just enjoy the hell out of it with close friends.
But now HCV comes along and upsets my whole carefully loaded apple cart.
So, here I am and glad of it.
Everyone just needs to relax. Indian exports are a recent development. The restriction is very likely the result of money being placed in the right hands for some very wrong reasons.
Gilead had to have planned for this when the Indian deal was in the making.
The original, non-Indian sources are secure. The meds are moving and I would imagine a Plan B has already been put in place for dealing with recent events.
This situation simply screams: “The cure is available! What are you waiting for??”
I am doing everything I can to pass that along.
Maybe this bad thing is a good thing in disguise.
Maybe people will begin to realize that things could be far worse.
Maybe they could be like they were 6 months ago. No hope. Then hope. Then rumors of people going places “In Search of Sovaldi”.
To summarize, I would simply say one thing: Relax, but get off your backside and get your medicine. Or,
move to Australia.

7/07/16 UND SVR 24I have told people in the U.S. and elsewhere that REDEMPTION meds would be delivered. If shipments originating in India were detained, they would be getting another from somewhere else.
Let’s just say I have a very reliable source and go from there. Send an email if you need further assurance.

Bad News. Indian generics being blocked.
Well I was hoping that I would not ever have to write what I am writing now but it is not unexpected.
This week all shipments by two major Indian suppliers of Indian generic Hep C medicines have blocked at the airports by Indian customs.
In conjuction with DHL the shipments leaving India are being seized by Indian Customs.
Whether they will be released or not is another question??
One major supplier has already ceased shipments as the costs of having the shipments seized and not released mount up. This is mixed with the fear of prosecution.
It seems that Big Pharma is not going to allow the poor peoples of the world to access affordable Hepatitis C treatment.
They will have to pay the full, obscene price or die.
The evil persons who run these huge multinationals, and their minions, are determined to profit from the suffering of others and they have not been idle.
Big Pharma’s cruel servants have been moving behind the scenes with their blood and tear stained money and buying favours where it counts. Now they launch their counter attack, blocking access to the affordable generic Hep C treatment coming out of India.
Perhaps it will be a temporary victory for them, perhaps not.
So we may just have to turn back to Bangladesh.

That is a very good point and going to the medicine is far less expensive than retail. It is just far more trouble than importation. Let’s hope the remaining options continue to be viable and the “India” situation resolves itself in a positive manner.

It appears that shipments of HCV medications are not being allowed to leave India as of yesterday.
This is a very serious development. Access to generic HCV medications had been easing until this unfortunate event.
The loss of access to imported Indian medications limits the ultimate source for quality generic HCV DAA tx to exactly one.
There are three ways to import those life-saving medications:
1. Dr. Freeman’s clinical trial
2. Bangladesh
3. Direct importation of APIs

This is a very troubling development. Gilead has a new CEO now. This could signal a more aggressive approach by Gilead concerning the importation of generics. The door is open now. However, it could slam shut. Don’t be left out in the cold if that happens.
REDEMPTION shipments will be delivered. That is a given.

This is not good. No way to sugarcoat it. If your REDEMPTION meds were sourced from India and detained, I would imagine you will now be getting a package from elsewhere.
More to come. Still looking. We were doing just fine before India. We will be fine now.

Dead people don’t need drugs.

The fundamental question: What is more important, corporate profits or peoples’ lives?
