    The perfect storm would be a vet who suffers from HCV, can’t get tx through the VA, orders generic meds from India with his/her own money and has them detained by the FDA. THAT would probably be 60 Minutes material.
    Publicity is political cat nip.
    The real problem here is the disease.
    A great many people view HCV sufferers in the same light as junkies and alcoholics- self inflicted disease sufferers in their minds.

    He only said “I” nine times!
    Dealing with the government and politicians is frustrating. One option is to just write really short notes with one or two questions that request a simple yes or no answer. Then when they reply, use the info in it to ask another question. I always signed them:
    “Thanks in advance for your prompt response”
    They always replied and sometimes even answered my question.
    Staffers write 99.9% if the letters anyway,
    So be patriotic and give some poor government doofus a little job security.

    I think there needs to be more data before anyone needs to start worrying about importing from one country over another. How many are coming in without any issues at all? How many people import without posting information here? Lots of questions. Not many answers.

    One solution to Gilead’s blatant profiteering would be for the FDA to recognize approved generic drugs like sofosbuvir and ledipasvir and allow import from legitimate sources. Force Gilead to fight a patent infringement battle instead if requiring sick people to fight to get them. Then all the nasty details would emerge in the press as the case progressed. How the poor company was simply trying to recoup research costs to be able to continue its noble cause.

    What are the restrictions on the importation of prescription meds in Romania? Generally speaking, once the supplier ships, they are your responsibility. In the U.S., the FDA will destroy the medicine in 30 days if you can’t get it released. I don’t know about Romania. If they returned it to the supplier, you might see your money again. I don’t really know.
    The REDEMTPTION trial meds are a different story.
    I’m sure Parvez and others here can give you better advice.
