Hey Gaj, I think it’ll only take 5 or 6 days, but I won’t be returning from a trip for a couple days after that. I’ve already laid money down for the trip & leaving in 3 days. I could take what I have left every other day. But, just hard to know what’d be best.

    Hi HTRJ,
I am G3a with similar stats to yours. I’m 11 weeks into treatment. From what I read, mostly here, I thought 12 weeks would be fine. I hadn’t heard that people were going longer. I’m tx naïve, had fairly low VL & went UND @ 4 weeks. Your note + Dr. James’ response makes me think twice though. I have the funds but I don’t think I could get the next batch before EOT in 5 days. Not to mention I have a 6 day trip planned & set to leave on the day tx is done. What a drag to second guess this.
If I’d seen this a week or so ago I guess I’d probably buy more. Maybe do 4 more weèks.

    Cheers

Yeah so, I got my 4 week lab results today: HVC RNA BY PCR QN – NOT DETECTED. Pretty nice words to see next to those acronyms. Also, ALT 14, AST 19.
I tried to pick up results yesterday but they wouldn’t hand ’em over. The PA hadn’t initialed the papers. So, I started thinking…my money, my insurance, my health, my life. And you can’t hand over the lab copy you’re holding 2ft from me? And that led to thoughts about how I’ve paid $1000-$1200 a month for med insurance for 25 years but had to buy my own hep meds off shore from…an unknown source & hope for the best. Well, the ins. cos are corrupt along with other players in this scenario & that’s just the way it is. Mostly tho I am grateful I had the means, that this site is here & that there is a way thru Redemption or Kingswood.
Thanks to those who told me to drink more water. Headaches are rare and mild. Otherwise I am carrying on as I was pre-tx, strenuous exercise and all. I’m always happy when I check in and see you guys doing well!
    Cheers!

Chejai, I just had to say I really, really can relate to your story from beginning to end. From the troubling environment that led to aquiring hepc to loosing a sibling to substance abuse, to having to patrol my own temptation to drink more than what would be good for health. Walking along right behind you in tx. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks 2b CC2b & Jaz. Well, I was having a few sides but increased water intake seems to have fixed them. I read some posts about generics that kind of alarmed me but, I’ve decided I trust Kingswood & Dr.James more than I would Gilead anyway. I also read some posts about sx starting weeks into tx and some people cutting back on dosage. So, that’s why I was asking about those things in “experts corner”. Great to see you all having good results!

Um, wow. I’m glad to hear the VL was much lower than 41 €#king million. Hard to find good help these days, I guess. Real sorry it caused you stress. Can’t wait to see your new numbers from the 4 week labs.

Uhg. Day 10 & headaches getting worse and lasting longer. On the weekend, got a good ride in but the next day I basically didn’t get off the couch. Got through work today but pretty bad headache tonight. I guess I’d like to hear from anyone else who is having similar trouble. I wonder if anyone takes pain relief med. I’ve not really ever had headaches before and it seems like a bad idea to take anything that would stress the liver. Starting to despair a bit.

I’m on day 10 of Sof/Dac and am having trouble with headaches. I got one after taking the first dose, and get one most evenings after taking the pills. Yesterday I was sidelined by an all day headache. Although during the 1st week, I had very good days. But now the headaches are starting to stick. I wonder if anyone takes Advil. I mean, I’m in the habit of not adding loads to the liver by adding pain relievers, it’s starting to get tempting.
I have rarely had a headache before. Glad to hear some people have their sides fade.

2b Wow, last 4 days! That’s great! I feel so happy for you! That must be a great feeling. Are you confident? Or still worried? I don’t think I’ll feel 100% relaxed until the SRV12, but I’d sure feel good about those Und’s you got.

Only 4 days into tx. I do get mild headaches after taking the meds & they last for some hours. I wonder if it’s because I’m only 115lbs/53kg & the dose is probably geared for a 175 lb dude. Most of the time I feel good. I even went Mt. biking on the second day at a fairly strenuous pace. It was a big relief because for so many years I pictured feeling terrible on tx. I might not feel good enough to ride with my mates through this, but I think I’ll be able to stay somewhat fit.
I got the Fibrosure results; they claim F1-F2. Ultrasound “normal”. So, pretty stoked even though I know the tests are not too exact. My ALT had gone up to 110. Hasn’t been that high in many years.
The doc took the news just fine that I’d skipped the bullshit & got started. He asked what I paid & was very surprised this could done for $1200. He ordered all the labs for 4, 8 & 12 weeks. I don’t feel anxious at all. I know there’s a chance it won’t work but, I pretty much expect it to. Then on to the business of continuing a healthy lifestyle & making the most of this precious life, right?
