‘I don’t really have the “speedy” feeling some describe, I don’t have more energy, but I do have very strong pulsations & can hear my heartbeat in my head very strong, esp at night when I try to sleep on my sides. My head hurts & I suspect my blood pressure could be high.
Does anyone measures their Blood Pressure while on tx?’

    Hi Jolie
You very accurately described a sensation that I have experienced periodically over the years and for me it was always at night. For me this feeling generally occurred when attempting sleep and it was sometimes after a couple of drinks. It felt as though the virus was replicating and like you I could feel a strong sensation of ‘heartbeat in my head’ especially when lying on my side and it was just impossible to relax or sleep until the sensation passed which usually took several hours. I take meds for high blood pressure and my blood pressure is recorded as at the high end of ‘normal’. I was also on cholesterol meds which I have halted in anticipation of my sof/dac tx.

Thank you Browny for your post.
All the replies have been so positive and immensely helpful to me as they are first hand accounts of responses and feelings about continuing work while under treatment. It’s happening now and all attainable. I can clear the virus and live my life.

I am interested in hearing about coping mechanisms for working while on treatment also. I am the sole income earner for my household. I work in customer service and administration – so together ideally I should present with a cheery welcoming countenance while paying attention to detail. To tell the truth I am struggling with this at the moment as I am waiting to begin treatment. Hopefully I will get through ok.

    Hi Lizzi

    FYI
There is an apt available with Doc Freeman on Monday 16 November at 2.30pm @ GP2U via Skype. I suggest you book as soon as you can if you are going to take that option because at least you can be sure that you will be offered a script. It has been my experience that I had been promised a script by a specialist and the very next day that was promise was withdrawn.

    cheers

I’ve lived my life with hep…and then I find that in my lifetime –  :woohoo: :pinch: the parallel universes collided!!

I find out that a cure has been discovered and I now have an opportunity to own the disease and self treat. The doctor performing the fibroscan asked me how much the meds from China cost and what was the name of the company in China.

He then followed with ‘ your result is ok, if I were you I would wait!”

    silent disease, quiet killer

I sadly know people who are suffering with breast cancer or bowel cancer and other life threatening illnesses. I wonder bout my friends – how many have HepC? – I don’t know because it is not up for discussion.

I don’t censure physicians and specialists who work at Liver Clinics or in Gastroenterology but I do think they are kinda apathetic. I have repeatedly been let down by medicos and institutions. If you were passionate or cared I think you would support progressive health movements and choice. I understand why you maybe can’t.

I consider myself to be an honest person. I have empathy for others and offer assistance wherever appropriate. I contribute to society. Know one knows but me how I am and I do the very best that I can.

People that I know would be surprised to learn that I have HepC. They would maybe question how this happened. I don’t know and it doesn’t matter.

There is a cure but not generally available. The FixHepC Buyers Club and online forum have helped me so much. I want to be cured and I don’t want to die for the lack of treatment. I have children, grandchildren and elderly parents and want to spend time with them as they do with me. I am a human being and I am exhausted. I feel isolated and withdrawn and I shouldn’t live have to live my life this way. I need help. I have lived many years on the ‘outside’ presenting as fine.

I live in Australia supposedly ‘the lucky country’. I pay the Medicare levy. PBS where are you? I also pay thousands of dollars for private medical cover.

Doc Freeman has helped. I have ordered my meds through FixHepC Buyers Club, there is no other option and I am thankful and hopeful.
