I changed right at the start from SOF+LED to SOF+DAC as i had to take PPIs(Nexium). I did all the research i could found so little between them that I changed to Dac combo and was able to keep taking my Nexium.
I am now 2 months post treatment ( 90 days treatment) with No detectable Virus. Although the sample numbers are small for Sof+Dac i am sure as larger numbers come through that this combination is at least as good as Sof+Led. Its obvious given Gileads track record that the combination in Harvoni is only because Gilead purchased the rights to Led then instantly dropped support of trials with Sof+ Dac.

I am finishing treatment also in 2 days and the best thing has been that i was UD by week 4 . I have had a lot of trouble with weakness, tired all the time and have the dreaded brain fog. The headacres that i had for the first 2~3 weeks stopped once i drang plenty of water but the other symtoms are still there only not as severe. I am concerned as to how much better I feel once TX is over this week and so will post how I am feeling as the weeks pass. I hope more do this as I think this is a concern for those just starting or those in the middle of TX.
    Good luck everone!!!

    Hi Tiania,
I am also Geno1b and are now in my 10th week with only 12 days to go. I have had the same side effects from the start but found the 2 -3 weeks worse. I can tell you that drinking plenty of water(up to 2litre a day) helps a lot particually with the headacre’s as every time I had one start I would dring water and it improved greatly. You can find plenty of others that have found the same result from drinking water.
I still have periods of weakness at times and a very foggy Brain but it is not as bad as it was at the start.
A common comment I see from others is NO SIDES accept from headacre and brainfogg so what they must mean is acceptable Side effects. T
Goodluck with the rest of your TX and I hope you will find water helps. :+1:

I have just over 2 weeks to go now on my treatment Sofos+Dacl having changed from my origional intention of Sofos+Led due to my need to use PPIs.
I have Geno1b which i think has a slightly better chance of clearing the virus than1a when treating with Sofos+Dacl or least as good as using Ledipsavir.
Did i do the right thing in switching combo’s. Am I correct in what i have concluded or is the data on Sofos+Dacl just not available in large enough numbers to be sure.?

Thanks / Good luck to everyone here on treatment and those who are going to undertake it.

I started on Sofos+Led for 3 days then switched to Sofos+Dacl. Now at week 6 and will continue to week 12. As i have a bottle of Led was considering an extra month changing back to Sofos+Led at week 12. Not sure but I have been considering it .

Thanks for your replies. I know I somehow need to get him to make an appointment with Dr Freeman and I am hoping even these few comments here may be enough to get him to that point.
I just need him to understand the politics behind why they are putting their own agenda’s and ego’s ahead of the fact their patient has a desperate and urgent need for re-treatment now.
I have the same HepC type1b for the same time and we were both treated back in the late 1970’s by the same medical centre for HEP NonA-NonB as it was called then. I am now at day 36 of treatment with Sofos+Dacl with the Virus becomming un-detectable by day15. I had not progressed to cirrhosis so i am luckier I beleive he will have to add Riba as well and longer treatment but it is looking like the Sofos+Daclat combo particularly for 1b is looking like it will acheive close to 100% clearance rates.
    Thanks all !!

Have been taking Sofos+Led now for 4 days and receiving Daclatasvir today I am changing to Sofos+Dac. After I made the decision and ordered Ledisavir I did more research and decided perhaps i should have chossen Daclatasvir with my acid relux problem.. Now I realise it was a big mistake for me in the first place falling for what treatment was being given where Insurance companies are funding treatment. When you take the distortion out of what is the best treatment to use caused by Gileads vested interest in Ledisavir its looking more and more like Sofos+Dacl is the smart choice.
We will know for sure in the near future as the results from Fixhepc data stacks up.

Thank you all very much for your advice. Unfortunaly I have a Barretts esophagus and until about six months ago I also had dysplacia which has improved greatly .
About 10 days ago I changed to Somac and will try now to go with out any. I also weigh about 105kgs so your advice seems I should switch to Daclatasvir .
I am starting the Sofos/led today and did order Daclatasvir when I first read about this issue and expect it in a few days.
You mentioned a trial where about 50 people have taken Daclatsivir as well as Sofos/led combination so do you think I will not have a problem just adding it instead of replacing the Led?
    Thanks again for your advice.!
