Hi just to update my treatment news. Because of my fibroscan being 12 months ago Ive decided to increase my treatment from 12 weeks to 24. Reason being is that I cant be completely sure of my fibrosis status. My feeling is that I would be unlikely to have reached F4. But that is only a feeling and not science. I would be so regretful if I got to the end of 12 wks and relapsed because I had underestimated my condition. Not exactly to plan, as I went into treatment as soon as the club started and I assumed a 12 month old fibroscan would be ok. Ive learnt alot on the forum here , which is why Iam changing my game plan. So for the record I will be 12 weeks on sof/led from Mesochem followed by 12 weeks of Twinvir. Hoping my second lot of 12 weeks will reach me soon enough to tag team with the last dose from mesochem. I have 23 day left to make it happen. Jill

I understand your point but Iam talking about since fixhepc was started, and encouraging people to help themselves.

Yes G thats the story, wish I had that updated fibroscan all the same. Do you know if its possible to order an extra 4 weeks. Might be hedging my bets , with a top up just in case. J

Yes Zhuk sad but true. I can understand, thing is I was so worried the club would stop and the opportunity would be lost to them. Sometimes you just cant let an opportunity pass you by no matter how bad you feel. Anyway all you can do is let people know and wish them well.

Yes we are peas in a pod. Good luck to you. My gut feeling is that I have not progressed to F4 in the last 12 months. Would have to be unlucky. Still even the F4s have a 85 % chance of clearing it with only the 12 weeks. Jill

Thanks Gaj for posting, so if you were me , because my fibroscan is one year old….would you just buy extra and double the treatment duration to be sure. Thing is Ive only got 28 days to go before I finish my 12 weeks and would need to buy very soon to make sure Iam continuous. Thank You opinions valued. JILL

Its true there are some people who just want to forget they have this thing and hide. They might be thinking they wont get as sick as some other people they know , besides they feel ok … I was shocked when I tried to tell people when the club was open day 2, far as I know they havent taken it up and dont want to talk about it. Horses to water. Jill

HI DT I contacted hospital this morning in melbourne. Was told the clinic is closed for the year. If I wanted to have a fibroscan next year I would have to get at the back of the queue which is currently 3 months long ! So looks like ive blown that option. The blood test you speak of I think once you have begun the treatment you cant do that test for some reason I forget right now. Pretty sure James has posted about it. Now Iam wondering do I buy more sof/led just in case or just cross the fingers. In my conversation with dr at melb hospital he reckons it would be unlikely to progress to F4 in one year.

Thanks DT good on you for spending the time to reply. Occasionally i get worried that I didnt take the time to do it all exactly to recipe. I was so keen to buy before the club was at risk of being closed. So I just went with my year old fibroscan. I will consider the possibility of having a new fibroscan. However it might take too long to get an appointment. I suppose there are going to be alot of new people getting in line, with the new listing comes a new kind of waiting. Thankyou Jill

In the SMH it did quote Malcolm as saying “within a generation” to eradicate from the population. .. is that another way saying its going to take a while to treat everyone?
