“Here I will post my experiences and treatment diary. I hope it will be helpful for some
and at the same time cathartic for me too …Big love & thanks to all, especially Tim at MonkMed, Dr Freeman, Chester, Jyoti, Dr. Amir, Greg J, and all of you at Fix HepC
I wish all those here good health !”– quoting London Girl 9 months and one week ago!
Helpful for all and I expect cathartic for you!

Great end to a long (and heart felt) story!
All the best

Will do as soon as I find out my Facebook login.
Scam?? For Heaven’s sake. Even the Australian TGA can vouch for the site.

I noticed that with generic meds they may come in capsule powder form, while Gilead and Birstol Myers stuff comes in tablet form which of course has some coating to keep the contents all together.
From memory, there is an anti depressant (one version of Venlafaxine?) that uses its coating to affect how the medication is absorbed. The main issue with this from memory is that you cannot break the tablet in 2 and expect to use it as a half dose, say using 100mg tab as two fifties to save money.
Not sure is anyone has used both, but if so, has anyone noticed the difference in initial side effects? I realise the side effects are buggar all anyway, but just curious.

Hi London_R,
I can vouch for the change in energy with treatment:
a) over 20+ years of being HCV positive, the fatigue seems to creep up on you in the latter quarter. But then so did old age.
b) into treatment, a sudden change with increase in energy; over time I got the feeling this was physical and not just a mental (‘I’m cured and I give my self licence to feel good’ reaction.
c) post treatment waiting on SVR 12 all things well.
d) some time toward the latter quarter toward SVR 12 weeks (keep in mid this is in hindsight only) feeling familiar symptoms of fatigue…..
d) 12 week post EOT – virus detected.
e) fatigue increasingly comes back in the 3 months before recommencing treatment – LFT tests show red everywhere.
f) now back on treatment in week 1. —- feeling the side effects reminiscent of commencing treatment before.Forward from now? Will let you know but I expect the same old same old: increase in energy and clearer thinking. Will keep forum posted anyway.
Just some thoughts though:
a) the change in energy is remarkably given that when the fatigue seems to have set in I was in my mid fifties and when treated 60, so I would expect that this is s good improvement given my age.
b) try convincing some doctors that HCV = fatigue! – “Just lose some weight, exercise and you will feel better”. Loose the Hep C and you will feel better!!
c) generics work (at least through the route I obtained them – Tasmania).
d) the jury for me is still out with respect to brain fog issues with Hep C. This will be informed with second treatment, but right now I have a deep suspicion that life minus Hep C is a much more clear then with it.All the best for treatment.

7 October 2016 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Summary of EASL Recommendations on Treatment of Hep C 2016 #23604I had watched this before and did not hear the advice that these recommendations can be downloaded, I assume in pdf form.
I expect that having this document to hand when seeing your G.P. or specialist would help the conversation – a LOT.
Just a suggestion that may head off any WTF moments.

Hi stingray,
Came across your post via an update by Dr Freeman just now.
I joined this site 20th Oct 2015 – some 5 weeks after you.
Noticed you only posted once – hope you got treated.
Site certainly has proven to be ‘legit’!

klhilde wrote:If Gilead fears completely losing their market to generics, they may try to lock in a sale volume at a particular price before the court’s decision.
That’s what was going on when they offered the Indian, Egyptian and Brazilian governments the $900 price. They specifically contracted the 11 Indian companies to tie their hands in case the patent process failed (as it did, but then got reversed.) They didn’t hold to the $900 offer in Brazil.
They came to the bargaining table in Australia when they feared the word about generics was spreading too fast there.
Without any other explanation, it certainly seems reasonable to see things this way. Happy then to have been a small insignificant part of it!

4 October 2016 at 2:11 am in reply to: frigtened by possible severe irreversible side effects #23481Hi countless,
I did manage to relapse being GT 3 which is a drag to say the least.
My ‘severe’ side effects during treatment were these:
a) a slight dent in the wallet paying for generic medications.
b) Undetected HCV during treatment.
c) AFT and ALT levels back to normal.
d) fatigue gone.As for these side effects, now back on treatment and bring it on.

Following on from the aquatic theme:
“Think of considering generics for treatment of HepC as a boat; if you missed it, you may now find you have some swimming to do”.
I have this feeling medicos that waited for the gift from Gilead, may have inadvertently deskilled themselves in the meantime.
Don’t bury your head in the sand between the high and low tide watermarks – the world may have changed when you come back up for air.
Hi Archer,
my thoughts are with you too,

1. Extensive licensing with patenting company(already done). Estimated number of companies to sell the licensed product is 11
2. Drug Controller General of India(DCGI) approval.Current estimates are its going to take longer than 1 month.
We will know more post the July 17th meeting.
Can anyone update me about Velpatasvir’s availability? Did a search on this site but if this info is there, I did not find it.
Just curious mind you.

Well done LondonGirl.
I did notice the gentleman’s rate of breathing increased just before he jumped.
I also found that there was no one around the place a but eery but with visitors like this bloke I would stay indoors a lot too.

There has been some documentaries on recently discussing how JFK had many dreams about social justice, particularly civil rights for Negro Americans, but it was LBJ that had the political savvy to have them realised.
Most of my generation here in Australia unfortunately remember LBJ for the Vietnam War going on at the time. Mention of this situation with such an Act makes me shudder at the thought of how complicated American politics really is.
