Hi I finished 24 weeks of LEDIPASVIR / SOFOSBUVIR on Nov 3rd 2016 and soon to have my 12 week post treatment blood tests. If I am still virus negative then, I am deemed to be cured.
I have chronic cirrhosis, with enlarged spleen and gall bladder so I still feel quite unwell.
In retrospect I think I am improving slowly and can do a few more physical tasks than prior to treatment.
The first improvement I was aware of, only a few weeks into treatment was the ‘BRAIN-FOG” I had been trying to function with for DECADES!! had cleared a lot.
I certainly feel better in spirit and now think of myself having a future [ I am 65 ] rather than just struggling to get through the day!
Becoming more and more unwell over the last 20 to 30 years cost me nearly everything I loved. My partner of 10 years, my business of 35 years, even my ability to read a book, my perfect escape of a lifetime abandoned me.
I try and eat well, I still smoke ciggies, and am looking forward to, hopefully feeling a little better each day.
THANK YOU TO Dr JAMES FREEMAN and the FIX HEP C Organisation for this hope of a future, after decades of slowly but surely running out of steam, it means the world to me.

Thank you for that. My results are very much like yours .I’m genotype 1. Baseline viral load 4 million, 4 weeks 15,12 weeks negative, it seems too good to be true after 20 years of being very unwell.

I have never slept more than 2 hrs at a time since first feeling very unwell -20 odd years ago. It doesn’t bother me as I fall asleep watching t.v. during the evening. The other thing since being unwell I’ve noticed I almost always fall asleep directly after eating a meal. Even straight after breakfast, before I finish my coffee!!.
Since starting treatment 53 days ago I find myself feeling wide awake around 1 to 2 am after dozing in front of television since dinner.
Another side effect? I have noticed my vision is blurry at times, I wear specs for long distance sight but dont need them to read.
Speaking of -Reading was once my fav pastime but since being unwell I can’t read more than 4 pgs before falling asleep.
Anybody else had the blurred vision since starting treatment?
All in all I feel better on treatment, nothing hugely dramatic yet -although I’m sure my head is clearer.
    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY

About 30 years ago I developed anxious symptoms due to feeling faint and about to collapse etc. Sought help from all sorts of medical experts who could find no physical explanation so put it down to stress.
There was no test for HCV then.
Many years later one of the worse symptoms of chronic hep c and liver cirrhosis is tiredness and feeling I’m about to collapse and die.
I’ve learned its natural to feel anxious about this and also that anxiety which can lead to panic attacks and all sorts of related phobias seems to accompany many chronic illnesses.
These days when I feel like collapsing,I lie down and let my body feel whats happening.Usually I fall asleep, sometimes for an hour but most often only 10 minutes waking to feel much better.
Listen to your body, rather than trying to fight those feelings.
